Who Can Wear The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar?
A bark control collar is meant for dogs who have a bad barking behavior.
However, it should not be worn by dogs with health issues, senior dogs, pregnant and lactating dogs and small dogs. They are in no condition to be wearing any kind of electronic collar.
This collar is meant to be worn by dogs that weigh between 10 and 100 pounds. Any lighter and the collar will be too heavy. Any heavier and the collar will be too light.
Features Of The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar
1. The Training Unit
The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar employs both sound and static shock as modes of correction. And both these correction modes are ‘prepared’ in the training unit. Just so you know, the training unit is that black box that comes with the collar.
Now, there are seven levels to the correction modes and the correction modes are progressive. The first three modes are just sounds while the last four are a combination of sound and static shock.
So the idea is the collar starts administering the correction from the first level and continues for as long as your dog barks. If the collar gets to level 7 and your dog is still barking, the collar will rest for a while before picking up again.
On the training unit there are two navigation buttons. The buttons are for adjusting the sensitivity levels; that is, you can decide how sensitive you want the collar to be in picking up bark sounds.
The training unit has two face plates that you can switch depending on how you’re feeling or if you want to color code according to gender. One plate is blue and the other is orange.
2. Metal contacts
The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar comes with two pairs of metal contacts; one long pair and one short pair. The metal contacts are supposed to be attached to the collar right there on the back where there are metal electrodes.
The idea of the metal contacts is so that the vibrations and static shocks can actually get to the wearer’s skin. After all, that is the only way it can serve as a correction mode.
The reason you get two pairs of different lengths is that Zeus Power Pawz doesn’t know how furry your dog is. And if your dog is really furry, he’ll need metal contacts that are longer than normal and can penetrate through all the hair to his skin.
3. Shock Tester
This collar comes with a small plastic thing that you use to test the collar. You put it over the metal electrodes and get your dog to bark enough to set the collar off. If it lights up, then you know that the collar works.
4. Battery
This collar uses one replaceable battery. However, that battery doesn’t last very long.
5. Operation Manual
This collar also comes with a training manual. The manual contains information on the collar; how to assemble and work the it. Hopefully, you will find this manual an easy navigation.
6. Strap
The strap is made of nylon and is a one size fits all. Thankfully, it features a plastic tri glide which you are supposed to use to adjust the collar to size.
The strap also uses a black buckle for a clasp. And because it is not meant to be used as a walking collar, the Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar doesn’t feature a D Ring.
We should also say here that the strap is made with reflective stitching which makes it a high visibility collar.
Is The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar User Friendly?
If you have experience using bark control collars, you will not have issues with this collar. However, if you don’t, the training manual should be of help.
Pros Of The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar
1. Reflective
We like that this collar is made with reflective stitching. This is because it means that your dog can be seen in the dark and/or dim light if he is wearing this collar.
2. Operation Manual
We also like that this collar comes with an operation manual. The operation manual makes the operation of this collar a little easier.
Cons Of The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar
The battery on this thing runs out fast so, if you are going to get it, you should really think of stocking up on a lot of batteries.
Also, we think this collar could have been a bit ‘less sensitive’. We say this because it tends to go off at little sounds that aren’t even barks. And this could really be annoying.

The PetSafe Rechargeable Bark Control Collar uses a rechargeable battery and comes with its own charging cable that you can plug to any working device with a USB port.
It is actually a good deal pricier than our featured product but seeing as it is rechargeable, it might end up being a less pricey option in the long run. Plus the collar is careful about picking up only sounds that come from the wearer.
We should also point out that this collar is for large dogs, dogs who weigh as heavy as 40 pounds and over.

The Lovatic No-Shock Anti-Bark Collar is another no shock collar (obviously). An intelligent chip is built inside the transmitter to detect specific bark sounds coming from the wearer.

What Others think About The Zeus Power Pawz Bark Control Collar
Not so many people are excited about this product. The basic reason for this is that this collar is unreliable and you can’t always be sure if it will go off or when it will go off.

I’m writing to you in hopes that we can improve the pronged dog collars. I myself have your PetSafe Wireless Fence and love the product. I love that there is a reassurance that when I let my two dogs outside that they are safe in the yard and will not take off or be hit by a car.
Now for the collars…
When my dogs are not outside there collars are always off. Im almost very certain that somewhere in the manual you tell/ remind owners to check the collars often. But there is always someone that doesn’t do it. Such as this week I am DOG SITTING and when I was outside with them (they are kennel dogs) I noticed that one of there necks was all wet. Upon looking closer I was horrified when I saw the two holes in her neck from the prongs of the collar. Was I irate? ABSOLUTELY! Did I contact the owners right away? YOU BET! Did I give it medical attention right away? YOU CAN COUNT ON IT!
So this is where Im asking/hoping that there can be a way that you can come up with a better collar system so this doesn’t happen to more dogs but still be just as effective. I will also be contacting other companies that have pronged dog collars to see if we can all get on the same page and not let this to continue to happen to more animals. I sincerely hope that you will take this email into consideration and pass it along.
