This is a one-size-fits-all LED collar. So the same collar can be made to fit a decent range of dogs if adjusted properly.
This LED Collar can be adjusted to fit dogs whose necks measure between 12 and 27 inches. Aside size, this collar doesn’t have any restrictions as to who can or who cannot wear it.

1. Material
The Night Ize NightHowl LED Collar is made of plastic. Said plastic is stretchy and rubbery and so can be bent any which way. It is made in the shape of a thin tube and is then bent to go round your dog’s neck.
The collar is also water resistant. So your dog should really have no issues with wearing this collar in water. He can wear it to take a swim or while taking a stroll in the rain. Now with the collar being plastic, you also do not need to wash it. It is practically self-cleaning.
The color of the collar is determined by the color of the lights inside the collar.
In addition, this collar is not meant to replace a regular collar. It does not have a leash ring and so cannot be used to lead a dog.
2. The Light
The collar is powered by Light Emitting Diodes (LED). Because of the nature of the collar, it is possible for the LED lights to go all around the collar. This way, you have 360 degree illumination. What this means is that the wearer will be visible from any angle.
However, because the collar is a thin tube, it might sink into a dog who is long furred. Which will in turn reduce the visibility of the collar.
Now the light has 2 options. There is the steady glow and the flashing light and of course you can put it off too. The flashing light would be a good option in case your dog gets lost. However, it would be a terrible option for random walks where humans are. Flashing lights tend to irritate the human eye.
There is a button on this collar, right there where the clasp is, that is used for navigating between the light modes. The navigation is piece of cake, Just press the button.
When you press the button for the first time, it automatically comes on with the steady light mode.
You already know (from the product images here at least ) that this colar is very visible. However, some colors make for higher visibility than others. This collar comes in three color options with the red one being the brightest.
3. Battery
This collar uses a replaceable battery and comes with its own battery. The battery is properly covered so you’ll not have any issues with it coming off.
Know, however, that this battery is not something that you can get off the counter of any regular store. You might have to order replacements when the current one runs out.
4. Clasp And Adjustment
The Night Ize NightHowl LED Collar uses a plastic clip like thing for a clasp.
The collar is adjustable but it doesn’t feature a tri glide or metal buckle. If your dog is small enough, you could double wrap the collar and clasp. This way, your dog has provision to grow into his collar.
However, f your dog isn’t, you’ll have to cut off the excess. What you’ll do is measure your dog’s neck against the collar and then cut off the extra length that you don’t need. You’ll have to pull the tube off the clasp, cut it and then attach it back. It’s pretty easy actually.
Just so you know, cutting this collar does not affect the lights. This is because the collar is dotted on the inside with individual lights and not just one LED strip.

Yes it is. There isn’t much to the operation of this collar. You basically just have to wind a tube round your dog’s neck. And navigating the light modes is as easy as pressing a button.
