Seeing as the EpicPet No Shock Bark Control Collar is a training collar, it follows that only dogs who are in training need wear it.
Specifically, this collar is a bark control collar. So, specifically, only dogs who have issues with bark control need this collar.
Small puppies are too small don’t need this. So, if your dog is less than 6 months old, he shouldn’t be wearing a bark control collar.

1. Transmitter
The EpicPet No Shock Bark Control Collar comes with a transmitter that is responsible for processing and administering the correction modes.
The idea is for the transmitter to be placed snugly on your dog’s neck (with the aid of a strap).
And this is because this collar has the tendency to pick up some random sounds and your dog gets corrected for them.
So, you have to be sure that the collar fits snugly. However, it also shouldn’t be too tight. Dogs still have collar choke accidents.
So, on the collar you’ll see two buttons. One that increases the intensity of the corrections and another that decreases the intensity.
Since we are on the topic of correction modes. Note that this isn’t a shock collar.
What this means is that it doesn’t employ the use of static shock in correcting your dog. It only uses vibrations and warning tones.
As per the vibrations, there are six levels to them and each level features vibrations and a warning beep.
With the navigation buttons, you can decide what level you want the corrections to start at.
Also, think of starting at the least level, though, and progress if the current level is not very effective.
2. Vibration Electrodes
On the transmitter, you’ll also see two pointy looking things. These are electrodes that are responsible for passing the correction to your dog’s skin.
The electrodes are pointy but not sharp, so, there’s nothing to fear there.
However, the electrodes are not meant to exactly touch your dog’s skin. This is why this collar comes with two pairs of stoppers. One long pair and one not so long pair.
The idea of getting two pairs is that a short pair wouldn’t get through to a dog’s neck if he is long-haired.
Plus, EpicPet isn’t exactly sure of the kind of dog you have. Hence, two pairs of different lengths of vibration electrodes.
3. Batteries
The EpicPet No Shock Bark Control Collar is powered by two replaceable 6V alkaline batteries.
If you decide to go with this collar, then you’d have to consider stocking up on those batteries. So that when you need replacements you’ll always have some.
EpicPet says that if this collar is beeping constantly, it is probably telling you that you need to replace your batteries.
4. Strap
Remember we told you that this collar’s transmitter is attached to your dog’s neck by a strap? Well, that’s what we are discussing here.
The strap is a nylon band that is joined together by a regular plastic buckle. We believe that basically everybody should know how to work a plastic buckle.
Now, the material is stitched with reflective stitching which should make it possible for your dog to be seen in the dark.
The strap alone is washable. So, if it ever gets dirty, just pull it out of the collar and wash it. It’s fine!
We should mention that the EpicPet No Shock Bark Control Collar is an adjustable collar. It features a tri-glide which you can use in making this collar a nice fit.
5. Training Manual
This dog collar comes with a training manual and apparently the manual is quite graphic.
It doesn’t just use words, it employs the use of pictures, too, in taking users through the use of this collar. It also contains some problem-solving techniques.

The training manual is also quite detailed. So, to answer our question we’ll say this dog collar is user-friendly enough.
