Who Can Wear The Mighty Paw Martingale Dog Collar?
This collar can be worn by any dog whose size the collar is available in.
Now, with this collar being a training collar, you would think that only dogs who are being trained need to wear it. However, there is a special feature on this dog collar which allows it to double as a basic collar. We’ll discuss that soon enough. Making it suitable for every dog.
Features Of The Mighty Paw Martingale Dog Collar
1. Material
This collar is made up of two ‘parts’; the main collar and the martingale loop. The main collar is made out of durable nylon.
In addition, it is stitched with reflective stitching. So while you might not want to pick this collar to take your dog walking in the dark, you would be grateful for it if you both happened to be out walking when night falls.
This collar is available in only two colors; black and grey. Also, you can wash it if you really need to. Just don’t toss it in the machine.
2. Martingale Loop
The martingale loop is made out of iron and is what makes this collar different from a basic collar. The loop is also what determines how tight the collar can get. So be sure to pay attention to the length when trying to buy this collar for your dog.
In addition, the martingale loop is joined to the main collar by two rings. The rings are made in the same material as the martingale loop and are meant specifically for the aforementioned purpose.
What this means is that you shouldn’t be hooking a leash or anything of that sort to either of those rings. The collar has a provision for that.
3. Clasp And D Ring
This collar uses a regular black plastic buckle as the clasp. It is regular so we need not spend too much time on the mechanics of the thing.
Now, remember we told you that this collar has a special feature that allows it doubles as a basic collar? The martingale loop is joined together by an O ring. And if you are going to be using this collar as a training collar, the O Ring is what you want to attach the leash to.
However, there is a D Ring on the side. So on the days when you want to use it as a basic collar, you could just switch the leash to the D Ring.
4. Tri-Glide And ID Ring
This is an adjustable collar so it features a tri-glide. The tri-glide is made of plastic and is used to adjust the main collar to fit better.
Beside the company logo, there is a small plastic ring. The ring is there for you to attach your dog’s ID tag. You could also attach some small accessories to the plastic ring. Just don’t hook something as heavy as a leash.
Is The Mighty Paw Martingale Dog Collar User-Friendly?
It is user-friendly. However, we always advise that you get consent from your veterinarian and/or dog trainer before you decide to use a training collar of any kind. They should help decide what kind of training collar your dog really needs, assuming he needs one.

Cons Of The Mighty Paw Martingale Dog Collar
You have to be a bit careful if your dog’s fur is light-colored because sometimes the color runs. You might be lucky to get the one that doesn’t but we still had to warn you.
Also, sometimes the sizing isn’t exactly correct. You might get something too small or too big. However, the tri-glide might be able to solve that problem.
