The ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar is one of the creations of the ROGZ brand. ROGZ is a pet brand that has products that can see to a lot of your pet’s needs.
It considers itself the “coolest pet product company” on planet Earth and tries to portray that in its different products. All its products have different little somethings that are supposed to push those products to a different level of fun.
With that said, let’s look at the collar we have for today.

Who Can Wear The ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar?
This collar is an extra-large collar that adjusts between 17 and 29 inches with a 1-inch width. This makes it suitable for large dog breeds like Labradors, Ridgebacks and also Rottweilers.
Features Of The ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar
You know how a martingale has two parts to it? (If you’ve read this article you should know that by now). Well, with this Martingale Collar, the two parts are made of two different materials.
The main collar is made of nylon. This makes the collar really strong and sturdy without being too stiff that it is unbearable. It is built to accommodate large dogs who are most likely going to be pulling on it a lot. And we think it is safe to say that the collar does its job and does it well.
However, in spite of being strong enough to hold in a Labrador, it is still pretty comfortable. It might not exactly be the softest collar out there but it is sure comfortable enough.
The material is breathable. Hence, it isn’t so constricting when it is pulled on or when pressure is applied to it.
2. Martingale Loop
We’ve already pointed out that the two different loops on this collar are made of different materials.
Now, the martingale loop is metal. And some argue that a chain martingale makes for easier sliding across which allows for quicker release of the collar when it has been pulled on. However, we’ll leave that to you to decide.
The chain is coated to protect it against rust and also tarnish. Also, you should know that ROGZ says the chain loop can bear up to 1219 pounds of direct pull. This seems quite a lot if you ask us.
The martingale loop is a major determinant of how tight the collar can go. Remember this and also the fact that the loop is in your power to manipulate as you wish when you grab on to your dog’s collar.
Probably the most impressive thing about the design on this collar (which is also a common feature on all ROGZ collars) is the reflective stitching.
The reflective thread is sewn right into the collar and is basically a part of it. The reflection is good enough and you might be grateful for it if, for any reason, you are stuck in walking your dog in the dark.
However, it probably is not something you intentionally want to grab to go walk your dog in the night. It isn’t that reflective.
Now, in a situation where you don’t need the reflective quality of this collar, you should turn it inside out. The reflective stitching is only on the outside of the collar, the inside isn’t reflective.
Additionally, this collar comes in a number of different colors, 10 of them to be precise. But there are absolutely no designs on it. Also, it doesn’t have any form of clasp. So to get it to fit your dog, you’ll have to adjust the collar, pass it through his head and adjust the collar again to fit exactly right.
The idea behind making this collar without a buckle is to eliminate the possibility of the collar accidentally slipping off the wearer’s neck if the buckle comes undone.
4. Leash Ring And Tri Glide
You’ll find the leash ring at the end of the chain loop. The ring is in the shape of an O and is also coated to be protected against rust and tarnish. It is securely attached to the martingale loop and so should not come off when pulled on.
The tri-glide is one very important part of the collar, especially seeing as there is no clasp. You’ll need to get yourself really acquainted with the tri-glide because you’ll be working it frequently (if you get this collar, that is).
The tri-glide is made out of plastic and should really not give you issues with its operation.
Is The ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar User-Friendly?
Despite being a training collar, this collar is pretty easy to operate. However, we always recommend that you get in contact with your veterinarian and, or, dog trainer before you even think of getting a training collar of any kind.
Also, be sure to never leave your dog unattended when he is wearing this collar. It could constitute a choking hazard.
Pros Of The ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar
It is made with reflective stitching which could really come in handy.
It’s also really flexible. While it is reflective on the outside, it isn’t on the inside. This way you can decide to or to not make use of the reflective quality.
This collar is really durable as it is made for large dog breeds.
Cons Of The ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar
For one, this collar comes in only one size. If your dog is not large, you’ll need to look for something else for him.
Also, the collar is not very reflective and should really not be your first choice of a reflective collar.

Option For Smaller Dogs
ROGZ Obedience Half-Check Dog Collar
If you absolutely loved our featured collar but your dog isn’t that large, you should consider the ROGZ Obedience Half-Check Dog Collar.
It is like our featured collar in that the main loop is made of nylon while the martingale loop is a chain.
However, the basic difference between the ROGZ Obedience Half-Check Dog Collar and our featured collar is that this one is for medium-sized dogs. It adjusts between 16 and 22 inches and has a ¾ inch width. Go check out this review for more information.
Option With A Buckle
Cetacea Chain Martingale Dog Collar
If the thought of putting a ‘buckleless’ collar around your dog’s neck doesn’t do it for you, you should consider the Cetacea Chain Martingale Dog Collar.
It has practically all the features our featured collars with a few added things. One of them, of course, is the buckle. Another is the fact that it comes in five sizes: extra-small, small, medium, large and extra-large.
You should know, however, that the Cetacea Chain Martingale Dog Collar costs a bit more than our featured collar. Check out this review for more information.
The Country Brook Martingale Dog Collar is our opposite spectrum for two reasons. One, it is the only collar that is made of the same material all through. Both loops on this collar are made of nylon webbing.
Two, it is also the only collar on this list that has design patterns on it. However, like our featured collar, it does not have any form of clasp. Check out this review for more information on this collar.

What People Think About The ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar
Dog owners are actually fine with this collar. It contains their dog’s strength and is usually also no worse for wear. However, there are those that wonder why the collar is made with reflective stitching seeing as it isn’t very reflective.
If your dog is large enough, you could give the ROGZ Lumberjack Martingale Collar a try. For us, it’s a great collar.
