iSPECLE Dog Training Collar — Detailed Review

iSPECLE Dog Training Collar, 2019 Upgraded Waterproof Rechargeable 2600ft Remote Dog Shock Collar with LED Light, Beep, Vibration, Shock for Medium/Large Breed 2 Electronic Collars, Neck Lanyard

The iSPECLE brand is who we need to credit for the iSPECLE Dog Training Collar. iSPECLE is a an online business that has its focus on technology.

Hence, its products include things like phones and accessories, home equipment, sport equipment and of course pet supplies. And by pet supplies, iSPECLE actually means dog training collars.

iSPECLE is primarily located in Guangdong, China. However, because of its online presence, its products reach farther than even Asia.

The iSPECLE Dog Training Collar is obviously a training collar. Now, if you do not know what a training collar is about, we recommend that you check out these articles first: dog training collar and dog shock collar.

Now that you understand the basics, you’ll be able to follow when we talk about the different components of this collar. We’ll kick things off right away.

Who Can Wear The iSPECLE Dog Training Collar?

iSPECLE recommends that if your dog will wear this collar, he must weigh 20 pounds at least. The collar strap adjusts between 7 and 25 inches.

However, there are some groups of dogs that shouldn’t be wearing this collar. They generally include really young puppies (younger than 6 weeks), pregnant and lactating mothers, invalid dogs and senior dogs. All these groups of dogs are not ‘strong enough’ to go through training.

Features Of The iSPECLE Dog Training Collar

1. Remote Transmitter

First off, the remote transmitter has 3 channels and each channel can accommodate 2 collars each. What this means is that, all together, the remote controller can accommodate about 6 collars. However, this package comes with only two collar receivers.

Now, there is a channel button on the remote that you’ll use in switching collars before you send whatever correction you want to. How do you know what collar is ‘on’? Well, you can kinda see it on the LCD screen.

Now, here’s why we said kinda. On the screen, you’ll be able to see what channel is actually ‘on’. However, there isn’t a way for you to know what collar is. So, you’ll have to always remember what collar is in what channel so you don’t accidentally correct one dog instead of another.

Furthermore, there are what we could refer to as the mode buttons. Now, this collar has 3 (or 4, depending on how you’re looking at it) corrections.

They include warning beep, vibration and static shock. The last is the LED light which isn’t really a correction mode. However, if you could get your dog to respond to that it would be awesome. The buttons for all four are properly tagged.

Finally, (for the buttons, that is) there are two navigation buttons. Those are there for you to navigate through the levels of intensity. This collar has 99 of them. So please, start with the least sensitive level, especially if your dog is small.

Furthermore, at the bottom of the remote you’ll notice a small loop. Now, this collar comes with a neck strap lanyard. You’ll loop the lanyard through that small loop so that you can hang the remote around your neck or something.

2. Collar Receiver

The package comes with two collar receivers and they are exactly the same. The receivers, while having some degree of water resistance which makes them safe under light rain and such, should not be submerged or dunked.

Furthermore, you’ll notice a very obvious light on the top of the receivers. The light button on the remote controls that, depending on what channel is one.

There are shock probes on the receiver that are responsible for transmitting the shock sensation to the wearer.

However, this collar comes with two pairs of silicon covers; one pair per collar receiver. Those covers should make things a bit safer.

3. Collar Strap

As you must have already guessed, this collar comes with two collar straps. Both of them are made of the same material; PU leather. However, while one is black, the other is orange.

Both collar straps use metal buckles for a clasp that also double as the adjustment mechanism. Also, they are both not washable. Keep them far away from your washer.

4. Charger

Seeing as this is a rechargeable collar, it comes with its own charger; head and cable.

It is just one charger but the cable has two outlets; one is for the remote transmitter while the other is for either of the collar receivers.. So, you can’t actually charge the two receivers at the same time.

5. Test Bulb

This is something else that comes in twos. The test bulb is for you to check to see if the shock option actually works. Place one over the electrodes of one collar and press the shock button. If it lights up, the shock option works.

6. Training Manual

This collar comes with a training manual that could help make navigating the collar a little bit easier. It is written in English.

Is The iSPECLE Dog Training Collar User Friendly?

Well as training collars go, the iSPECLE Dog Training Collar is an easy collar to operate. However, we would rest easier if your veterinarian and/or dog trainer were in the know of your trying to purchase a training collar.

Now, this is not because you can’t figure things out without their help. But because they are in the best position to decide if your dog even needs one.

Pros Of The iSPECLE Dog Training Collar

1. Number Of Collars

You get two collar receivers with this one package. And there is provision for even more to be connected to the same transmitter..

2. Rechargeable

We always prefer a rechargeable collar to a collar that uses replaceable batteries. And this is because you won’t need to continually replace batteries.

Cons Of The iSPECLE Dog Training Collar

One little thing with this collar is that the probes are not long enough to get to the skin of a dog who is long furred. So, if you are getting this collar for the shock option and your dog is long haired, you might have little issues.

Alternative Options To The iSPECLE Dog Training Collar

More Sophisticated Option

Dogcare Dog Training Collar

Dog Training Collar - Rechargeable Dog Shock Collar w/3 Training Modes, Beep, Vibration and Shock, 100% Waterproof Training Collar, Up to 1000Ft Remote Range, 0~99 Shock Levels Dog Training Set

First off, the remote transmitter of the Dogcare Dog Training Collar can accommodate up to 9 collars. However, it comes with only one collar. So, whatever additional collar you want to connect will have to be bought separately.

Furthermore, the remote has a button lock feature. Now, this is not a very common feature. At the flip of a button, you lock all other buttons on the remote such that when they are clicked they do not respond.

We think this is a nice feature because it eliminates the possibility of accidentally shocking your dog. You’ll find all the information you need on this collar in this review.

Option With Replaceable Batteries

If you are not as excited as we are about rechargeable collars, you could give the PetZip 4in1 Training Dog Collar a try.

Bear in mind, though, that the PetZip 4in1 Training Dog Collar comes with only one collar and is not as sophisticated as our featured collar. Also, you might want to know that the collar strap is made of nylon. Anyway, go check out this review for more information on this collar.

Seeing as we are not exactly excited about shock collars, there isn’t much we can say. However, if shock collars are your thing, you can save a couple of bucks on this collar.
