We have carefully sorted through the many features of the AuAg Bark Shock Collar and their functions. All that and a bit more is what we’ll be exploring in this review today.
However, before we delve right into the features, we really think it would do you good to go checkout these articles: dog training collar and dog shock collar.
Why? Well, the AuAg Bark Shock Collar is a training collar and specifically a shock collar. Having a general idea of what a training collar is and what a shock collar is will help you better understand this collar.
Back? There’s another thing we need to see before we go look at the features. Don’t worry, it’s right below!

Who Can Wear The AuAg Bark Shock Collar?
The AuAg Bark Shock Collar, as we earlier stated, is both a training collar and a shock collar. This already tells that it should only be used on dogs who need to be trained, if it should be used at all.
Well, this is probably the right time to tell you this. We are not excited about you using a shock collar on your dog. We think there are more humane ways of getting your dog to mind.
Anyway, the AuAg Bark Shock Collar is a one-size-fits-all that adjusts between 8.62 inches and 24.75 inches. By the way, if your puppy is younger than 6 weeks, he shouldn’t be wearing this collar. Finally, we get to talk about the features.

Features Of The AuAg Bark Shock Collar
1. Collar Receiver
The collar receiver is that device that will rest on your dog’s neck. Now, that device is responsible for picking up and interpreting the barks from your dog. It is also responsible for sending the appropriate correction mode.
Concerning picking barks, the AuAg Bark Shock Collar picks vibrations and not exactly sounds. This, in a way, is safer than picking sounds.
The reason we say this is because with those collars that pick sounds, they could pick up another dog’s barks or even something that sounds like a bark. Then your dog suffers for something he didn’t do.
Vibration detection is supposed to eliminate this. However, it has its own little issues. For instance, your dog could be yawning loudly or maybe even shaking his head, the collar detects those vibrations and you know what comes next.
Now, concerning correction modes. The AuAg Bark Shock Collar has 3 of them: beep, vibration and shock. Also, the training modes have 7 levels of sensitivity.
On the receiver, you’ll notice four buttons. The one button that is on its own is the power button. And in case you were wondering, you can put off the collar.
The other three buttons could best be described as the mode buttons. One is the vibration button, the next is the shock button while the last is the sensitivity.
Why isn’t there a beep button? Well the beep is actually a warning that goes off before the actual correction mode. So you can’t exactly put it off or on, hence, the absence of a beep button.
Back to sensitivity, you can choose how sensitive the collar will be to picking up sounds and doling out correction. It’s best to start out without the shock and with the lowest sensitivity.
2. Test Light
This collar comes with a small plastic thing with a little bulb inside. You’ll need that to test and see if the shock mode actually works.
You don’t need it for the vibration mode because you can just look at the collar and know whether it is vibrating or not.
Anyway, how do you test the collar? You’ll place the plastic thing over the shock electrodes (the two things that point out of the collar). Then get the collar to go off. If the bulb lights up, then you’re good.
3. Power
The AuAg Bark Shock Collar is a rechargeable collar. And we think that’s a good thing because you don’t need to keep buying batteries.
Thankfully, it comes with its own USB cable. However, you should know this collar does not retain power for so long.
4. Collar Strap
The collar strap is nylon and has two lines of low-visibility thread. So, it could come in handy in a couple of dim light situations. Just don’t put so much hope on it.
The strap features a black buckle for a clasp and a tri glide for adjustment. Remember the AuAg Bark Shock Collar is a one-size-fits-all. So, the tri glide is very instrumental to the collar. It is easy enough to work, though.
5. Training Manual
The collar also comes with a training manual to help you through your usage of it. It is easy enough to read and should help you quite alright if you need help.
Is The AuAg Bark Shock Collar User Friendly?
Indeed the AuAg Bark Shock Collar is easy to use. Especially seeing as it comes with a training manual. However, we always advise that your veterinarian and/or dog trainer be in the know of your using this collar.
This is a sensitive collar so they should give you the go ahead if at all your dog will be needing this collar.
Pros Of The AuAg Bark Shock Collar
1. Vibration Detection
We like that this collar is more focused and picks up vibrations from the wearer’s throat instead of bark sounds. This is because we think it helps reduce the possibility of accidental corrections.
2. Rechargeable
Yes, we also like that the collar is rechargeable. Because, as we stated earlier, you won’t be needing to replace batteries.
Cons Of The AuAg Bark Shock Collar
We know we said the AuAg Bark Shock Collar doesn’t pick up bark sounds and so cannot pick up sounds from other dogs and the environment in general.
However, in picking up vibrations, it could misinterpret any vibration coming from your dog’s throat and send corrections anyway.
Furthermore, this collar isn’t exactly the most durable collar you’ll find. It does the work it should do but it doesn’t do that for long. Also, the fact that it doesn’t hold in the charge doesn’t help matters.
Alternative Options To The AuAg Bark Shock Collar
No Shock Option
Barklo Bark Control Collar
Click here to get this on Amazon! The basic reason we like the Barklo Bark Control Collar is that it does not make use of the shock mode. All it uses are vibration and the warning beep.
Furthermore, the Barklo Bark Control Collar works well and continues to work for a decent period of time. This collar costs a bit less than our featured collar. Check out the review on this collar here.
Option With Replaceable Batteries
Donidin No Bark Collar
Click here to get this on Amazon! If rechargeable is not your thing, you could get the Donidin No Bark Collar. Now, this collar isn’t any better than our featured collar in the way it works and its durability. Plus this one actually picks up sounds and not vibrations.
However, this is here because it comes with a lot of freebies. If you want to know what these freebies are, check out the review here.
Opposite Spectrum
Backguard Citronella Anti-Bark Collar
Click here to get this on Amazon! The Backguard Citronella Anti-Bark Collar is our opposite spectrum because it uses neither static shock nor vibrations. Instead, it uses something called citronella fluid.
So, when your dog barks, the collar automatically sprays the fluid into his face.
However, the Backguard Citronella Anti-Bark Collar does not come with the fluid, just an empty canister.
Also, Backguard doesn’t produce the fluid, so you’ll have to get it somewhere else.
Does it help that this collar costs the least of all the collars listed here? If it does, check out the review here.

What People Think About The AuAg Bark Shock Collar
A couple of people actually like the AuAg Bark Shock Collar. They say it does what it should and the shock isn’t so intense.
However, more people are not excited. Now, this isn’t because the collar doesn’t work but because it doesn’t last.
Our Take
We are not in love with shock collars and the AuAg Bark Shock Collar does nothing to convince us otherwise.
