Who Is The EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar For?
You can get this collar to fit a dog whose neck measurement falls between 5 and 24 inches.
However, not every dog should be wearing a training collar due to health condition, maternity and even size. In fact, a small puppy might find this collar too heavy.
Features Of The EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar
1. Transmitter
The transmitter is the control room of this collar. It is this transmitter that picks up the bark sounds and sends the correction to the wearer.
This collar has a microprocessor that is responsible for picking up the bark sounds from your dog. The microprocessor is built into the transmitter and is meant to pick only bark sounds coming from your dog alone.
To make the transmitter effective at picking only your dog’s bark sounds, be sure that it fits snugly against your dog’s neck. That way, the transmitter knows exactly who it is there for. Be careful though, snug does not mean choke tight.
This collar is a shock collar which means that it uses static shock as a mode of correction. Now, there are levels to the correction. And before the corrective shock is administered, there is a tone that is sounded to warn your dog against continuous barking.
The transmitter starts out at the lowest shock level and only progresses if your dog continues to bark. Added to this, there are six sensitivity levels.
That is, you can decide how intense you want the shocks to be with level 1 as the least sensitive and level 6 as the most sensitive. There are navigation buttons on the transmitter that you can use to navigate through the levels.
2. Shock Electrodes And Tester
There is a pair of pointy metals on the transmitter. Those are the things that are saddled with the responsibility of sending the static shocks to your dog’s skin. The collar comes with 2 pairs of rubber stoppers that are supposed to be put on the electrodes before they get to touch your dog’s skin.
The two pairs are actually of different lengths. This is so that whether you have a dog who is long haired or you have one who is short haired, you’ll have a pair of rubber stoppers that are the right length. The long pair should be for dogs with long hair because it can actually get to the skin.
Now, there is a blue plastic thing that comes with the collar. That is what we’ve decided to call the tester.
You’ll see two wires on the flat side of it. Those two wires are to go on the two shock electrodes. Then you can get your dog to bark enough to trigger the shock correction.
If it works, a bulb on the inside of it should light up. This allows you test the collar without actually putting the electrodes against your skin.
3. Battery
The EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar uses one replaceable 6V alkaline battery. You might want to stock up on that seeing as they are quite easy to come by.
4. The Strap
The strap is made of nylon and, as earlier said, can be adjusted between 5 and 24 inches. And the strap is sewn using reflective stitching.
It uses a plastic buckle which we could say is easy to work. And it uses a plastic tri glide for adjustment. The strap is wash compliant so feel free to wash it when it gets dirty.
Is The EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar User Friendly?
You might need some help and a good dose of patience to work this collar. EpicPet might have salvaged the situation if it sold the EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar with a training manual or something. Unfortunately, there isn’t any.
Pros Of The EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar
1. Reflective
This collar is sewn with reflective stitching that should make the wearer visible in the dark.
2. The Tester
We think it is a good idea that it comes with a tester. This allows you see whether the collar is working or not without having to test it out on skin.
3. The Battery
We also like that the EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar uses a battery that is pretty easy to find. You don’t need to go on a scavenger hunt just to replace one battery.
4. The Cost
For a bark control collar (or even any collar for that matter), this one is pretty inexpensive. It certainly doesn’t demand that you break the bank.
Cons Of The EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar
This collar is not one of the easiest things to figure out. Things could have been a lot easier if this collar came with an instruction manual. But apparently, EpicPet didn’t think it was necessary.

Would you rather a rechargeable collar? The PetSafe Rechargeable Bark Control Collar could be a good option for you. It is a waterproof dog collar and has up to 10 levels of correction. Know, however that this collar is pretty pricey and is basically for large dogs. Like up to 40 pounds large.

What People Think About The EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar
This dog collar has a fair reception. People are OK with it because it works for the most part. However, the collar is kinda tricky so some people are actually put off.

We think the EpicPet Premium Bark Control Collar isn’t such a great collar. But it is inexpensive, so if that is motivation enough for you. Oh well!
