Who Can Use The Tzou Dog Safety Collar?

The Tzou Dog Safety Collar can be worn by practically any dog. Furthermore, it comes in just 3 sizes: small, medium and large.

The small Tzou Dog Safety Collar adjusts between 11 and 14 inches and has a 1-inch width.

The medium adjusts between 14 and 18 inches with a 1-inch width.

Then the large Tzou Dog Safety Collar adjusts between 14 and 21 and also has a 1-inch width.

 

 

Features Of The Tzou Dog Safety Collar

1. Material

The Tzou Dog Safety Collar is made of nylon fluorescence webbing. The material is just good enough to last for as long as the lights do.

The fact that the material is fluorescence webbing means that the lights on the inside can shine through.

The collar is surprisingly properly stitched. So, while the collar could split in half or more sections than half, it probably will not fray. At least, not quickly.

The collar comes in just 6 colors: blue, red, orange, green, pink and yellow. And of course, the lights inside of them take the same color.

2. Lights

The Tzou Dog Safety Collar is a light-up collar, so, the lighting thing is kinda very important.

There are just 2 LED lights inside the collar.

However, there is an optic fiber strip that passes the lights from each end to the entire collar.

And truth be told, the lights are really bright. Just those two lights with the optic fiber strip are enough to light up the whole collar.

Now, about the lights, you have three options available to you. One is steady glow while the other two are flashing lights (slow and fast).

You’ll navigate through the different modes at the click of a button. And yes, you can turn the collar off with the same button.

It is advisable that you use the steady glow when you are around humans in order not to offend people. Because flashing lights can actually be annoying to the eyes.

One thing, though; the lights will not work forever. They will probably stop working quicker than you expect.

So, if you want to go ahead with this collar, be prepared for the possibility.

3. Battery

The Tzou Dog Safety Collar uses a CR2032 button battery for power. Replacements should not be that difficult to find.

Also, while the brand says the battery that this collar comes with can power the collar for as long 50 hours, you’ll want to be careful there.

The batteries are not that long-lasting. So, your best bet is to buy a pack of replacement batteries so you’ll have them on hand as often as you’ll need to replace them.

4. Control Box

There’s a black box that is kinda hidden in between folds of collar material. The position where the box is should be safe enough.

Anyway, the box is very important to you because it contains the navigation button that you’ll use in navigating among the light modes and also putting the collar off.

The box is also where you’re going to put the battery. So it needs to be secure such that your dog cannot lay his hand on it.

5. Clasp, Tri-Glide And Leash Ring

The Tzou Dog Safety Collar uses a plastic buckle as a clasp. The buckle should not give you any issues; it is normal sized and easy to you.

Same goes for the tri-glide. It is made of plastic and is what you’ll use in getting the collar to be your dog’s exact size.

Adjusting the collar does not affect the lights inside, so, go ahead and adjust if you see the need.

The leash ring is the only metal thing on this collar and is sewn right into the collar.

The leash ring is good enough on its own. However, its stay on the collar is dependent, to a large extent, on the strength of the collar material. And that isn’t going so well, is it?

 

Is The Tzou Dog Safety Collar User-Friendly?

If you can figure out how to work the little black box (navigating with the button and fixing in the battery), you’ve practically figured everything out.

And the box isn’t that difficult to figure out. So, yes! The Tzou Dog Safety Collar is user-friendly.

 

 

Pros Of The Tzou Dog Safety Collar

1. Bright Lights

If there is anything that works with this collar, it is the lights. There are just two of them, one on either end of the collar.

Also, the optic fiber does a good job of transporting the lights throughout the collar.

2. Affordable

The Tzou Dog Safety Collar is a really affordable collar. Especially considering the fact that it is an LED collar.

The fact that it is one of the most affordable LED collars in the market, coupled with the fact that the lights shine really bright, could be good enough reason to get the collar.

 

 

Cons Of The Tzou Dog Safety Collar

The collar is so not durable. The material of the collar is weak and needs a lot of improvements.

Furthermore, the lights are bright alright. However, they do not stay working for a long time.

Also, the battery could have been better, really. But the collar is inexpensive, so…
