So, we present to you the Pet Classic 1-Door Dog Crates. Of course this is a commonsensical option as the Petco Premium is the upgrade to the Petco Classic. So, if the upgrade is a bit too much for now, you can step down a bit and go for the Classic instead.
This is made of metal but the metal isn’t as heavyweight as the one on the Petco Premium. Also, from the name you can see that this crate comes with just one door. Sorry love, but you’ve got to make do and make this work.

Generally, customers love this crate because they have found them to be exceptionally sturdy and durable. Also, they set up really easily and collapse as easily too.
A lot of pet owners did complain about that the plastic tray shifts around a bit. But the problem is actually with them not the crate. If you lock in the tray properly onto the crate, it will stay in place and won’t shift.
Well, either way we still don’t like the plastic tray because it’s not as strong as the metal trays.
And then another thing that most customers noticed was with the latch system. In fact, there was a dog who used his tongue to work the latch until it opened.
Besides that, customers were pretty satisfied with the brand too. The crate shipped quickly. Customer service was topnotch and the crate came in pretty large and spacious.
Our Verdict
This crate is great, and we’ve already listed all its pros. However, there are some places where Petco could have done a much better job.
For instance, for a crate that’s supposed to be thicker than the average dog crate, we don’t see how it’s any different from the regular wire dog crate in strength.
The locks are practically useless. We’re sorry if that sounded harsh, but it’s the truth. If a dog could undo the lock with his tongue, then how is it supposed to keep your pet safe?
But besides that, a few sharp corners here and there, and the plastic pan, this crate is pretty good. It’s strong and sturdy. But still, as we advised, only keep this for well-behaved pets. And reinforce the locks.
