When we talk about soft-sided dog crate brands, we can’t go far without mentioning Go Pet Club. And the Go Pet Club Soft Crate for Pets is just one of the many amazing soft dog crates it offers.
If you’re interested in checking out other soft dog crates from this brand, we’ve got you covered. Just check out these reviews on the two of its soft crates here and here.
Now, to the brand behind all this awesomeness…
Go Pet Club is a pet store and one of the most prolific ones in the industry. This brand knows its stuff. Collaborating with its exclusive manufacturer, this brand stocks up on some of the most exquisite looking pet products in the industry.
And we just have to mention it. The pet products we have seen so far from the brand are some of the most beautiful we’ve seen for miles.
Well, without further ado, let’s get to the business of the day.
Who Is The Go Pet Club Soft Crate For Pets For?
The Go Pet Club Soft Crate for Pets, as the name has already given away, is for pets. Actually, all pets can use this. So, feel free to use this even for your cats as well.
That said, you need to factor in the obvious — the fact that this crate is a soft sided one. If there are dogs that can take down wire dog crates, then there are twice or even thrice as many dogs that can make mince meat out of a soft sided dog crate.
So, it’s important that you only give this to a well-behaved, crate-trained dog, or a senior at worst.
Besides that, Go Pet Club has been known to make some of the most functional and comfy dog travel crates in the industry. So, this can also work as a travel crate.
Pet parents who are constantly on the move and, therefore, in need of a crate for that specific purpose can get this crate.
But we must mention here that this crate is not built to withstand very heavy usage. So, don’t use it as a house crate as well as a travel crate at the same time. If you want this to last, then restrict its usage to particular thing at one time.
Features Of The Go Pet Club Soft Crate For Pets
1. Nylon Shell
The Go Pet Club Soft Crate for Pets is made of a nylon shell, and so, is water-resistant.
The nylon shell makes the crate very easy to clean. So, you don’t have to take off the cover of the crate to wash in a machine and then wait for it to dry. No. You just wipe down and your crate is as good as new.
Another reason we love the nylon shell is that it makes this crate very versatile. The Go Pet Club Soft Crate for Pets will not look out of place whether in or outside the home. This is super important especially because this is supposed to also double as a travel crate.
Now, even as this material comes with its pros, it also comes with its drawbacks.
For one, it automatically makes the crate a terrible idea for an aggressive chewer, or any energetic breed. They’ll knock this down too easily or chew it to bits.
So listen to the manufacturer’s advice and restrict the use of this to crate-trained dogs alone.
2. Sturdy Tubular Steel Frame
To support this crate and ensure that it is stable on the ground, the crate comes with a steel frame.
Naturally, steel is a tough metal and we see why Go Pet Club made the choice to go for steel frames.
But here’s the thing… Steel or not, you still have to be careful with this crate. It’s not farfetched for the frame to get broken with extreme (and sometimes, not so extreme) handling.
So yeah the frames keep your crate stable, but be careful. We’re not saying walk on eggshells (we hope that applies lol). Just be commonsensical about handling the crate.
3. Mesh Windows
For ventilation, this crate comes with mesh windows on all sides. We do not take this feature for granted because it is critical to your pet’s comfort and overall health while in his crate.
4. Screen Mesh Door
This crate comes with two doors; one on the top and the other in front. Of course, they close with zippers which we are very skeptical about.
But first, the doors. Two doors are very convenient and it’s not just about the number, we also love the placement.
With a door on top of the crate it becomes more convenient for you to carry out your routine chores. You’d have to agree that it’s a lot easier to take things out of the crate by reaching into the crate from the top, than doing that from the front door.
That said, the reason we have doors is not really for access as much as it is for protection. And that’s where we are a bit disappointed in this crate.
The zippers would put an escape artist in stitches. They simply aren’t a challenge. And again, you see why this is best for crate-trained, well-behaved pets, right?
5. Removable Fleece Mat
In its usual magnanimous character, Go Pet Club includes a complementary fleece mat in this crate. It is plush enough, you don’t need to change it. Plus, the cover of the mat is also removable, so, if it ever needs a wash, that can be easily done.
Now let’s talk about that off chance that your dog makes an accident on the mat. Yes, the cover is redeemable but how about the mat it covers? Well, it happens that the mat is actually made of plasticky thing.
Long and short, it is kinda hard and therefore easy to clean. So, should an accident happen, you should be safe. But then again, it also means that the crate isn’t exactly plush.
6. Foldable To Compact Size
Of course, this can be folded down or why else would we recommend it for travel? It also comes with a nice, convenient handle on top as well.
When folded, this takes up much less space and weighs far less than it initially weighed. And to make an already convenient crate even more convenient, this crate comes with two storage bags.
You’ll find those bags at the top of the crate. So, when your crate is folded, you can put them into the bag for safekeeping and porting. And if one gets lost, it’s no biggie. That’s why there are two bags.
7. Available Size And Colors
This particular crate comes in only one size, and that is 28 inches. So, you can see that it tends more towards a small to medium breed.
But there are two different styles to choose from though, even though Go Pet Club puts 3. The AC20 and the AC40 are practically the same thing for crying out loud! They are both blue in the exact same shade and pretty much everything else.
The AD28, though, is different as it comes in a grey color.
Pros Of The Go Pet Club Soft Crate For Pets
1. Versatile crate which can be used both indoors and outdoors.
2. Go Pet Club crates are about the best folding crates for miles. This crate will take up 93% less space and feel 44% lighter when folded.
3. There’s a complementary crate pad with a washable cover included
4. Two doors with large mesh windows for easy accessibility and ventilation.
5. Side pockets can be used to store pet necessities.
6. Quite roomy.
7. Two carrying cases make porting convenient.
8. Low maintenance, easy-to-clean crate.
Cons Of The Go Pet Club Soft Crate For Pets
1. Might not really feel den-like if you don’t throw on a cover like a blanket or something.
2. Many dogs will be able to maneuver or break the zippers and mesh windows altogether.
More Affordable Option: Go Pet Club Soft Dog Crate
If you need something that’s equally great for travel but at a less expensive price tag, then go for the Go Pet Club Soft Dog Crate. It is lightweight, it folds really flat, and it also comes with a carrying case to make the crate very convenient to lug around.
So, as you can see, it’s a lot like our featured product in a lot of aspects.
For a soft dog crate, this comes pretty affordable. And there’s a crate pad thrown in as well. Just try to limit your use of this crate to somewhat light usage. We are not totally sure how this will hold up under prolonged usage.
Higher-End Option: Jespet Soft Dog Crate
For pet parents who can afford the splurge and want to, check out the Jespet Soft Dog Crate. This crate can be used both indoors and outdoors.
But as an upgrade to our featured product, this crate comes with an extra door. That is, 3 doors in total.
The Jespet Soft Dog Crate is super convenient for travel or as a pet carrier. The adjustable straps it comes with makes it really easy for you to conveniently carry your pet for vet visits or any other outing you both may have together.
And even better, this crate also comes with a crate pad too.
Hard-Sided Dog Crate Option: Aspen Pet Traditional Kennel
The Aspen Pet Traditional Kennel is adapted for airline travel. However, we still advise that you check with the airline you intend to fly with beforehand to be sure that it would be allowed.
This crate is a fantastic idea if your pet is the shy type. It’s cozy and vey den like and your dog will love the peace and solitude of the quiet.
This crate also works as a pet carrier as there’s a cute handle on the top to help carrying the crate. By the way, the crate itself is pretty lightweight, so it’s not burdensome to carry.
The only issue here now is that this crate only runs in the small sizes. So parents with large breeds might need to check elsewhere for a hard-sided crate in their pooch’s size.
Wire Dog Crate Option: Midwest Life Stages Dog Crate
The name Midwest should inspire some sort of confidence in you. The brand has paid its dues in the pet industry. And so, we can confidently recommend its Midwest Life Stages Dog Crate to you as a wire crate alternative if that’s what you prefer.
The Midwest Life Stages Dog Crate comes in all 6 sizes so there will definitely be something in your dog’s size here. It folds flat, of course and it comes with this handle that wire crates usually come with to make porting easier.
Be careful though, this is made of heavier gauge metal, so it does feel a little heavy to lug around.

What Customers Are Saying About The Go Pet Club Soft Crate For Pets
Much as people love the Go Pet Club Soft Crate for Pets, they can’t help but notice that this thing is light duty.
No doubt it is very convenient to carry around. It folds flat, and even comes with carrying cases. However, they soon came to find that the fact that it could be carried around didn’t necessarily mean that they should.
A customer who tried to use this beyond light usage, found that it began to show that it was taking a serious beating.
The zippers on the crate were another major concern for customers on the crate. Apparently, it looks as weak as we said it would be.
But besides that, the crate was loved. And dogs appear to love staying in this unit too. Customers would have been much cooler with this crate if only Go Pet Club had made it somewhat sturdier.
We love Go Pet Club. Trust us, we do. But this crate is only a decent crate at best. And its weakest link is in the strength of its build.
The brand got every other aspect of this crate on lockdown quite alright. But this crate isn’t strong, and we don’t see this standing up to even regular usage for even a year without showing some strain.
All the same, we cannot overlook all the convenience and thoughtful features that this crate brings. Two carrying cases, side pockets, a convenient handle and a top door.
However, it would have been a perfect crate for us if only the crate were sturdier. It still wouldn’t do for chewers but at least it would be more durable.
