The Max And Neo Collar is one of the many collars produced by The Max and Neo Brand. The Max and Neo brand is named after the owner’s dog and their brother’s dog. And it was born out of the owner’s need to reach out to rescue dogs.
The owner figured that they would have a wider reach if they actually produced stuff than just dropping random stuff in random shelters.
So, the brand was created and it carries all sorts of dog products ranging from collars and leashes to treats and supplements. It even carries shirts for humans.
Now, whenever you get a Max and Neo product, you’re doing a little bit of charity because an exact product is sent to a dog shelter.

Who Can Wear The Max And Neo Collar?
The Max And Neo Collar comes in four sizes: extra-small, small, medium and large.
Features Of The Max And Neo Collar
1. Material
The Max And Neo Collar is made of nylon and the nylon used is 2 millimeters thick (well, except the extra small which is 1.5 millimeters thick).
This should give you an idea of how thick or sturdy the collar is. Two millimeters will offer a serious challenge for any dog who tries to break, paw or scratch himself free.
We also think it is a good thing that the thicknesses is different with the sizes. 2 millimeters of thickness on an extra-small collar would have been overkill.
This collar is also pretty comfortable. It might not be as soft as a cloud but it is comfortable enough to be worn regularly.
The Max And Neo Collar is definitely not water shy which automatically means it is machine washable. However, as to whether the colors will bleed, you’ll have to carry out a test yourself. Just dip a portion of the collar in water and see what happens.
2. Design
The Max And Neo Collar doesn’t come with any kind of designs whatsoever. However, you have 7 colors to choose from: black, blue, orange, pink, purple, red and teal.
Furthermore, the collar is made with reflective stitching. If you get the collar, you’ll notice two lines of brightly colored thread running across the collar. Those are what make this collar reflective.
In fact, this collar is reflective inside out. So, there is no escaping the reflection. What’s more, the actual collar stitching is done really well. The edges are properly finished and smoothened and the stitches look real nice too.
One other thing, there is a brand logo smack dab center on this collar. The logo is kinda small and shouldn’t obstruct anything.
3. Clasp And Leash Ring
The Max And Neo Collar uses a snap buckle that is made of nylon. However, this is not your regular nylon buckle.
This buckle has a locking mechanism. So that after you snap the buckle close, you’ll need to side the lock closed. This way, you can be sure that your dog will not mistakenly get himself out of the collar. Especially seeing as he doesn’t have thumbs.
However, the extra-small collar doesn’t come with that locking mechanism. Max and Neo probably thinks it is unnecessary.
The leash ring is a thick D shaped ring that is anodized. This way, you can be sure of two things: one, the leash ring is durable and two the ring is rust resistant. The leash ring is sewn into the collar and is supposed to be right there for a long time yet.
4. Tri Glide And ID Ring
The Max And Neo Collar also features a metal tri glide for adjustments seeing as it is an adjustable collar.
The ID ring, on the other hand, is plastic and is a really small thing. You’ll find it beside the brand logo. That ring is meant to hold only light stuff like an ID tag or a small accessory.
However, note that the extra-small collar does not come with an ID ring.
Is The Max And Neo Collar User Friendly?
The Max And Neo Collar is pretty easy to work. We don’t see you struggling with it or even asking for help.
Pros Of The Max And Neo Collar
1. Durable
This collar is a really strong collar; it measures 2 millimeters in thickness. We especially like that the thickness was reduced a bit with the extra-small collar. Because a 2 millimeter thick collar for a small dog could be an overkill.
Furthermore, the additions are pretty strong too. After all, the metal ware on this collar is anodized, so….
2. Reflective
We always like that this collar is reflective. It does come in handy if you happen to be stuck in the dark with your dog.
3. ID Ring
We like that this collar has a separate provision for an ID ring. This way, whatever information is on the tag will be clearly visible and not obstructed by a leash or something.
Cons Of The Max And Neo Collar
Sometimes, the Max And Neo Collar could be a few inches smaller or bigger than it ought to be. Also, sometimes, the buckle area could have one or two sharp edges poking out of the thing. These are not common issues with this collar, though. We just thought to share.

Option With A Metal Buckle
Max And Neo Reflective Collar
If you are more a metal buckle kind of person, you could try out the Max And Neo Reflective Collar. Aside the buckle thing, this collar is pretty much the same as our featured collar.
They are both reflective and do not have any kind of design going on. However, this one has only four color options: black, blue, pink and red. Also, this one costs a bit more than our featured collar.

Viosi Padded Leather Collar
Consider getting the Viosi Padded Leather Collar if you are more into leather. It comes in three colors only. Two of those three are just plain collars; one is black, the other is brown.
