Who Can Wear The Pet Pawsabilities Dog Collar?
The Pet Pawsabilities Dog Collar can be adjusted to fit dogs whose neck circumference measures between 8.34 inches and 24.5 inches.
It’s also meant for dogs who weigh between 10 pounds and 120 pounds. Less than 10 pounds and the dog might find this collar too heavy.
Also, seeing as this collar is a training collar, dogs who, for one reason or the other, cannot be trained should not be wearing this collar. This, of course, includes senior dogs, pregnant and lactating mothers, as well as little puppies.
Features Of The Pet Pawsabilities Dog Collar
1. Receiver
First off, this is not a shock collar. It only makes use of vibrations and sounds to correct the incessant barker or the wearer. In addition, the correction modes have 7 levels of sensitivity. And you are also allowed to decide the sensitivity level of the collar.
When you get the collar, to get it working, insert the battery. It doesn’t come with an on/off button, so inserting or removing the battery is what controls the collar. By the way, the collar comes with two batteries. Also, the collar beeps when the battery goes down.
The Pet Pawsabilities Dog Collar is set to level four as the default level. So to navigate among sensitivity levels, you would have to work with the navigation buttons. We advise that you start with the lowest (level 1), especially if you have a small dog, and only go higher if you think the current level isn’t enough.
Now, there are two probes on this collar. Those probes are responsible for getting the appropriate correction mode to the wearer’s skin. This collar comes with an extra pair of long round probes. So that if the ones on the collar are not long enough to reach, you have back up.
2. Strap
The strap that comes with the Pet Pawsabilities Dog Collar is one-size-fits-all. And as we’ve already mentioned, the strap can fit dogs with necks that measure between 8.34 inches and 24.5 inches. This is why the strap features a tri-glide – for a snug fit, and achieving a snug fit is crucial.
The reason is, this collar is triggered by sound (bark sounds specifically). It, therefore, has to be snug around the wearer’s neck to properly pick up the sound.
The material used for the strap of this collar is nylon which is fairly durable. Also, the strap itself is waterproof and so can be pulled out to be washed. However, the receiver is not and so this collar is not to be used in and around water.
The Pet Pawsabilities Collar also features a black buckle that is, obviously, meant to be used to secure the collar around the neck of the wearer.
3. Instruction Pamphlet
It comes with an instruction pamphlet that is meant to guide the owner through the activation and use of the collar. The instructions are pretty easy to understand and follow.
