This dog raincoat is available in sizes medium to XXL (extra extra-large). There is literally no small size.

Aside the size, there’s another thing you would have to look at. And that is the fact that this dog raincoat is single-layered.

What this means is that it does not provide your dog with any form of warmth at all.

So, if your dog is one that easily gets cold when it’s raining, you would need to get a dog sweater.

Features Of The Beirui Dog Raincoat

1. Foreleg Design

The Beirui Dog Raincoat comes with a foreleg design. This simply means that this dog raincoat comes with sleeves for your dog’s front legs to help keep the dog raincoat in place.

If you’ve used a dog raincoat that’s single-layered before, you would know why this foreleg design helps.

With normal poncho-styled raincoats, after sometime under the rain, the raincoat begins to slip from side to side on the dog’s back.

This phenomenon also happens with this dog raincoat. However, it is a little reduced because of its sleeves.

Aside the foreleg sleeves, this dog raincoat also has two elastic straps that you tie around your dog’s hind legs.

With these, you can see what the manufacturer was trying to achieve, that is to make sure that this raincoat, once it is on, doesn’t come off easily.

However, it’s not all roses. These foreleg sleeve and hind-leg elastic straps makes putting on this raincoat difficult.

Imagine how easy it is to simply place your poncho over your dog.

Now compare it to putting the dog raincoat through his head, then his neck, then putting his two legs in. After all that, you then have to strap his hind legs. Wow!

2. Color

This dog raincoat is available in colors blue and yellow. This is probably the only thing Beirui got right.

Blue and yellow are good colors to use for dog raincoats because they have high-visibility.

What do we mean?

Well, what we mean is that, basically, these colors are easy to see even in the dark.

This is important for a raincoat, because when it’s raining, it’s usually dark.

And it gets even better!

To add to the visibility, this dog raincoat further comes with reflective stripes. There’s one on each sleeve and one across the back.

1. It Is Adjustable

One good thing about this dog raincoat is that it is adjustable. First, it has underbelly Velcro straps.

These straps help you to tighten this dog raincoat so it fits your pup properly.

Also, it makes the raincoat free enough for your pup even if he’s just had a huge meal.

Another thing that makes this dog raincoat easily adjustable is the drawstrings on the hoodie.

Usually, the hoodie doesn’t fit properly, but the drawstring gives you the freedom to dictate how tight or loose you want the hoodie to be.

2. Leash Access Hole

Yeah, this dog raincoat also has a leash access hole that makes it easy for you to hook your leash to your dog’s collar or harness.

It’s a small hole, but we would’ve loved it if this hole could be covered by a flap or something.

This is because, after inserting the leash, this hole remains open, and gives room for little droplets of water to touch your dog’s neck.

Cons

The Sizing Is Completely Off!

We do not like the fact that this company is deceiving its customers. Whether intentionally or not, it’s a big disgrace.

The product image clearly shows this dog raincoat on a golden retriever. Naturally, a golden retriever is a large dog.

Naturally, this would give customers the idea that this dog raincoat is for large dogs.

Image aside, the sizing chart is all off. A whole lot of customers complained that the sizing was way too small.

“How can I order a dog raincoat in XXL for my golden retriever and get something that can barely fit my cat?” this and many more complaints similar to this are what we heard when we interacted with customers.

We have to say that this is completely unacceptable. People in countries outside America couldn’t even return this because of the cost of shipping and the stress on top.

If only this company could have come out to say this is for really small dogs or perhaps make bigger sizes, maybe this product would have been worth it. But as it is, we don’t think this is worth the price at all.

Even if you carefully follow the sizing chart, you’ll still be ordering a wrong size that would be useless because it wouldn’t cover your dog properly.
