1. Material
This collar made of polyester, one of the most popular materials used in making basic collars. Probably only second to nylon.
Polyester is usually known for being quite soft, and this one actually is.
We expect that your dog will find this collar quite comfortable. However, the strength isn’t exactly something to be celebrated.

What you have is a mix-match of different themes from fall leaves and breast cancer black (you know it is about breast cancer awareness, yea?) to flip flops and happy birthday.
This collar is designed to be weather resistant which means that it is good for all weathers; snow, heat, cold even rain.
And yes, water does not damage it at all. So allow your dog to wear it when he goes swimming or even when he is taking his bath.
Also, this collar is machine washable.
3. Clasp And D Ring
This collar uses a plastic buckle for a clasp.
The buckle is another thing that we are not excited about. It snaps and unsnaps easily quite alright. But it isn’t the strongest Yellow Dog Design could have used.
We have to say, though, that we don’t envision you having too much of a problem if your dog isn’t very active.
But if he is, there is a noticeable probability that his pulling will cause the buckle to break.
The buckle is water safe, though, so water shouldn’t cause it any harm.
The D Ring is a metal thing and is one of the strongest features of this collar. It is sewn into the collar and hold up nicely. But of course, it can only hold up as much as the collar itself does.
4. Tri-Glide And ID Ring
The tri-glide is another plastic thing but it is stronger than the buckle. It is what you’ll use in getting the collar to be the right size for your dog.
This collar has a provision for you to hang your dog’s ID tag in the form of a plastic rectangular ring.
You could hang your dog’s tag or basically any small accessory you think is necessary. Just don’t hang anything as heavy as the leash.

With a basic collar, the answer to this question is almost always yes because it doesn’t need so much to function.
Unless a manufacturer decides to do more than they should. Thankfully, Yellow Dog Design didn’t.

We really love the designs on this collar. Because not only are they quite a lot, they are also really diversified.

2. Comfortable
This collar is also pretty comfortable. Comfortable enough that it can be worn every day.
3. The Stitches
Yes, the stitches! They are really nicely done and the edges are properly finished. This way, you shouldn’t expect fraying or even abrasions.
Cons
We think this collar could have been stronger than it is.
As it is, it is strong enough for a medium-sized dog that spends his times indoors engaging in activities that are not so rigorous.
But if you take that dog outdoors, this dog might not stand the test.
The buckle is another thing that really needs to be improved upon. Especially if Yellow Dog Design has energetic dogs as part of the target market for the Yellow Dog Design Standard Collar.
