The Shine For Dogs LED Collar is made out of nylon that is soft and comfortable and should make it easy for your dog to wear for long periods at a time. The collar is pretty lightweight and is yet tough and will not easily fall apart.
This collar comes in about 6 different colors. Then there is the one that is multi colored or rainbow colored. This is probably not a function of the material but the light.
2. The Light
The Shine For Dogs LED Collar is powered by Light Emitting Diodes (LED). Now, instead of just one strip of plastic band lending the light, you have fiber optics on either sides of the collar.
So what you have is a LED collar that is fully lit up. The absence of a single plastic strip also allows you to bend the collar in any direction without the fear of something breaking on the inside.
Now there are three (or maybe four, depends on how you look at it) light adjustability options. They include steady on, steady flash and rapid flash. Then of course you can turn it off (this is why we said maybe four).
The choice of what consistency to use is totally up to you. However, there are a few things you need to know. First, flashing light is usually irritating to the human eye. So if you are around people, you might not want to use either of the flashes.
Second, the ‘steady on’ option actually causes the battery to deplete fastest. Hold up! We aren’t saying that the battery drains quickly. What we are saying is that of the three options, the battery is more likely to drain fastest when the collar is consistently on.
To navigate among the options, there is a small plastic box in between two straps and close to the buckle. The box is carefully secured to the collar so that it does not come falling off.
3. Battery
The Shine For Dogs LED Collar uses a rechargeable battery. It also comes with its very own charging chord that you can plug to any of your devices.
The charging port is in the same place where the control box is. It is not hard to miss!
Shine For Dogs tells us that if you charge this collar for just 30 minutes, you can get about 10 hours of use from it.
Now, although we can’t say exactly if all you need to properly charge the Shine For Dogs LED Collar is 30 minutes, we can say that the battery lasts for a decent period of time if properly charged.
4. Clasp, Tri Glide And D Ring
The Shine For Dogs LED Collar uses a plastic buckle that comes in a color that matches the color of the collar. The tri glide is another plastic thing on this collar and is used for adjusting the collar.
Finally, the D Ring is made of metal and is sewn into the collar. It is located between the control box and the buckle and is what you hang the leash to.

The only thing you really have to be bothered about on this collar is the control box. And that box is pretty easy to operate. Really!
Also, because of the fiber optics, you don’t have to hold and wield the collar in a certain way in order for somethings to not break. You can basically bend it any which way.

We like that the battery lasts for a decent period of time. Provided it is properly charged. And we also think that the collar being rechargeable is a plus.
Cons Of The Shine For Dogs LED Collar
For one, the sizing is kinda off. So you have to be careful what you order. However, seeing as this collar is adjustable, you might not have so much of a problem here.
Also, the charging chord is not something that is easily replaceable. The ‘mouth’ that goes into the collar is not a USB mouth. And you know that chords that are not USB chords are not very easy to come by.
