The Sassy Dog Wear Collar is one of the creations of the Sassy Dog Wear Brand. And the Sassy Dog Wear brand was born out of the creator’s love for designing.
The owner actually went to a design school to learn how to design. They started out designing for themselves, friends and families. But then decided to combine two of their loves, designs and dogs, and turn it into a business.
The Sassy Dog Wear brand is a family owned brand. Everything from design to actual manufacturing is done by the same brand. And apparently, all of Sassy Dog Wear’s products are handmade. Sassy Dog Wear is located somewhere in Seattle.
That said, our featured collar is a basic collar and so doesn’t have much to it. Now, let’s do this!

Who Can Wear The Sassy Dog Wear Collar?
This collar comes in only three sizes: small medium and large. The small size adjusts between 10 and 14 inches with a 5/8 inch width.
The medium adjusts between 13 and 20 inches with a ¾ inch width. While the large adjusts between 18 and 28 inches with a 1 inch width.
Features Of The Sassy Dog Wear Collar
1. Material
The collar is made of nylon webbing which is fairly sturdy and durable. It should be nice for your dog if he isn’t so energetic or rambunctious. Small dogs should also be fine with the strength of this collar.
However, large dogs or dogs who engage in high energy activities might be able to break themselves out of this collar, or at least cause it to tear. We really think the material could have been stronger to accommodate the bigger and more energetic dogs.
The collar is kinda comfortable though. It isn’t padded but it is comfortable enough to be worn for as long as it needs to be.
This collar can be worn in the rain, in the pool or in a bath. It can also be hand wash or machine washed.
2. Design
This collar comes in only four colors: green, neon orange, black and orange. There is absolutely no design on the collar.
However, it is reflective. It has a single reflective strip running through the collar. Now, we have issues with reflective properties that are ad-on’s as they can come off which causes the collar to lose its reflective quality.
And this is what happens with this collar. The reflective strip comes off sooner than you think is appropriate leaving the collar with just its bright color.
However, the strip is really reflective. You’ll be getting much use out of the reflective quality. Provided it stays on the collar.
The stitching/finishing is another thing that is just fairly decent. It looks nice and is durable enough. However, expect it to fray. Not immediately though, but eventually.
Just so you know, this collar has the brand logo on the inside of the collar. Those that don’t like those big logos just hanging out, blocking everything and marring the beauty of the collar should be fine with this one.
3. Clasp, Leash Ring And Tri Glide
The collar uses a black plastic buckle for a clasp.
On the other hand, the leash ring is metal. And of course, it is what you’ll hang your dog’s leash on.
However, in the case of this collar, you’ll probably have to hang your dog’s ID from that ring too, seeing as there is no special provision for an ID.
The leash ring is sewn right into the collar and happens to be one of the strongest components of this collar.
The tri glide is plastic.
Is The Sassy Dog Wear Collar User Friendly?
Our featured collar is a basic collar and basic collars are known to keep things to the minimum, keeping out, as much as possible, the technicalities.
Pros Of The Sassy Dog Wear Collar
1. Reflective
We know we said the reflective strip has the potential of coming off. However, for as long as it remains on, it should serve you fine.
Some of the colors are really very bright. And combining the brightness of the collar with the reflectiveness of the strip, you have a decently visible collar.
2. Leash Ring And Buckle
Both the leash ring and buckle are really durable. Also, they are both easy to operate.
Cons Of The Sassy Dog Wear Collar
If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a hundred time that we don’t like the fact that the reflective property is an add-on. We think stitching the reflective property right into the collar gives it a higher chance of remaining on.
As it stands, the reflective strip comes off eventually and you’re left with just collar.
Furthermore, this collar might not be the best collar for big dogs, especially if they engage in really energetic activities. The collar is not that strong.
