Canvas, on the other hand, is a heavy fabric that is woven plainly. It is mainly made from cotton.
Combining both, Oxford canvas becomes a heavy, thick fabric made from pure cotton and the incorporation of synthetic fibers.
This material is so strong that it is the preferred choice for tentmakers. If you’ve ever gone camping, you’ll know just how tough tents are. This material is not only tough, but it’s water-resistant.
Being water-resistant, you can keep stuff that can be damaged by water inside your dog’s backpack without fear of rain.

4. Handle, Leash Attachments, And Straps.
The Rigg Dog Dog Backpack comes with a handle on top of the backpack for training and controlling your dog in close proximity.
Please, do not use this handle to lift your dog, it is not strong enough for that, neither was it wasn’t designed to do that.
Anyway, there are two leash attachments, two plastic D-ring buckles. One is at the front; the other is at the back.

1. Weight
The Rigg Dog Dog Backpack weighs half of what other dog backpacks of the same size weigh.
This is really good considering the fact that the backpack and the stuff inside should weigh less than 25% of your dog’s weight.
If normal empty backpacks weigh 5% of your dog’s weight, this one will weigh 2.5%, giving extra 2.5% to store other stuff. That little extra space can make a world of difference when going on longer trips.
2. Water-Resistant
Another highlight of this backpack is the fact that it is water-resistant. Because of this, you can keep stuff in there even while rain is falling and be rest assured that it’ll remain dry.
Also, because of this, you don’t have to remove the backpack just to cross a small pond.
Your dog can easily run across the pond, splash water all over himself, without it causing any serious damages to the stuff inside the backpack.
However, do not, because of this, keep the backpack on while your dog is in deep waters.
If at all your dog can swim, he shouldn’t be wearing a backpack while doing that. We’re sure you know why.

1. It’s Not Bright
Just like we mentioned earlier, this backpack is only available in black. It will not make your dog easier to see when it’s dark.
If you intend staying out late with your pooch, this is something to really consider. Even more, if you don’t keep him on a leash while you both are out on the trail.
2. The Straps Are Not Padded
The straps that keep this backpack in place are not padded. Because of that, they can sometimes irritate your dog’s skin.
We do not advise backpacks with this type of straps for dogs that are not hairy. If your dog is hairy, the layer of coating can provide him with enough padding to prevent his skin from breaking.
