About The Brand
Before we talk about the dog raincoat, we want to talk about the brand that manufactures the dog raincoat first. Learning a little about the maker of the product will give you an insight on what to expect from the product itself.
Queenmore is a manufacturing company that makes all kinds of products, that is, besides dog products. Its product categories range from indoor rugs to women’s clothing, to pet clothing and accessories. Basically, it deals with different materials across its various products.
This company, as you can see in its name, is more focused on “queens”. What we mean is that it is more focused on production of feminine-based products, and that includes dogs. Most of its products are pink and girly looking.
So, if you have a male dog, this might not be the brand for you. On the other hand, if you have a female dog, or you’re a woman yourself, you might want to window shop through this company’s items.
Who Can Wear The Queenmore Cold Weather Dog Raincoat?
For us to determine whether or not your dog can use this dog raincoat, we would have to see the sizes available. Just like in humans, the size of dog clothes determines who it is made for. Basically, dogs are divided into; small, medium and large sizes, based on their weight.
However, weight is not the measurement being looked at here. The factors that are being looked at are your dogs’ back-length, chest girth, and neck girth. What you need to do is measure these parts of your dog, either in centimeters or in inches.
Once you’re done measuring, you’ll need to crosscheck with the company’s sizing chart for the sizes available, and their measurements. This will help you decide whether or not your dog can wear this dog raincoat.
Below is a table with the company’s sizing chart:
|Chest Girth||Neck Girth||Back Length|
|XS||17.7 inches / 28 – 45 centimeters||7.9 – 10.9 inches / 20 – 28 centimeters||8.3 inches / 21 centimeters|
|S||13.6 – 22.6 inches / 35 – 58 centimeters||11 – 14.9 inches / 28 – 38 centimeters||9.8 inches / 25 centimeters|
|M||15.4 – 24 / 39 – 61 centimeters||11.8 – 17.3 inches / 30 – 44 centimeters||12.2 / 31 centimeters|
|L||17.7 – 31.1 inches / 45 – 79 centimeters||14.2 – 18.1 inches / 36 – 46 centimeters||13.8 / 35 centimeters|
|XL||19.3 – 33.5 / 49-85 centimeters||14.5 – 22 inches / 37 – 56 centimeters||15.3 / 39 centimeters|
|2XL||24.8 – 34.6 inches / 63 – 88 centimeters||21.6 – 29.1 inches / 55 – 74 centimeters||20.8 inches / 53 centimeters|
|3XL||27 – 44.8 inches / 69 – 114 centimeters||24.8 – 32.6 inches / 63-83 centimeters||22 inches / 57 centimeters|
|4XL||31-54.7 / 79 – 139 centimeters||35 – 41.7 inches / 90 – 106 centimeters||29.1 inches / 74 centimeters|
If your pooch is in between sizes, we suggest that you order a size up instead of a size down. That way, the dog raincoat would be able to cover more of your pup, keeping him dryer. However, be guided. If the raincoat is way too big, it’ll be uncomfortable for your dog.
If you weren’t able to find a size that fits your pooch, then we advise that you head on to our “alternative options”. There, you should find other dog raincoats. Hopefully, you would find one that comes in a size that fits your pooch.
Features Of The Queenmore Cold Weather Dog Raincoat
This raincoat comes in a double-layered design. So, there are two materials here: one for the shell (outer layer), and the other for the inner layer or lining. Because of this, we would discuss these two materials individually below:
The shell of this raincoat is made with water-resistant material. We’re sorry, but after much research, we still couldn’t find out exactly what material it is, the company didn’t say.
However, from the functionalities of the materials and our own observation, we were able to understand a few things.
The outer layer is water-resistant which is different from waterproof. This means that it’s not completely waterproof. It just resists moisture for extended periods. It doesn’t present such a huge drawback though, it’s not like you plan to live in the rain with your pooch forever.
The inner-layer of this dog raincoat is made with really thick material. If we were to take an educated guess, we would say cotton or fleece, based on what we’ve seen about the material.
The material is really warm. So, if you live in sub-zero climate conditions, then you should rejoice over this one. It will definitely keep your dog dry and toasty however low the temperatures get.
In fact, the manufacturers sell this dog raincoat as a double product. On one hand, it’s a dog raincoat. On the other hand, it’s a dog winter coat. If you’re looking for something to last through fall and winter, you have found the right one with this.
However, if you have a big, hairy dog, you might want to run away from this. The dangers of having a cold pup are as bad as having an overheating dog. Overheating might even be a lot worse because it’s harder for you to spot.
At the end of the day, you need to know how your pup reacts to the cold and use that to make your judgement on this material.
This dog raincoat is available in 4 different colors:
These four colors are functional as they are really easy to see in the dark. And that’s a good thing if you’re going to take your dog out for a walk out in the rain in the late evening. You’re going to need something that will help you see your pup and keep him safe.
Also, to enhance visibility, the manufacturers added a reflective stripe to this raincoat. Since the stripe glows in the dark, it makes your dog more visible which helps you maintain safety standards.
Pros Of The Queenmore Cold Weather Dog Raincoat
1. Ease Of Use
The Queenmore Cold Weather Dog Raincoat is easy to get on and off your dog. If you have a dog that doesn’t really like wearing clothes and most times gets a bit headstrong, you would like this.
No putting head and neck through holes, no sleeves, no leg straps. All you have to do is to place this on top of your dog and snap the Velcro in place.
Also, to make this even easier to use and in some ways more beautiful, there is no back or front. You can wear this dog raincoat either way. Both sides come with different designs that are both beautiful. That way, whatever way you place this on your dog is the right way!
2. Underbelly Is Covered
One thing people fear with dog raincoats is that their dogs’ underbellies are left open. And once they are left open, it’s easy for water splashes to get your dog’s belly wet.
However, the same is not the case for the Queenmore Cold Weather Dog Raincoat. The underbelly and chest of this raincoat are completely covered. So, you can rest assured that your pooch will always be completely dry using this raincoat.
This dog raincoat does not come with a hoodie. This means that your dog’s head, and part of his neck, are completely open. This is not a good thing if your dog’s head is sensitive.
