Features Of The Puppia Dog Raincoat

1. Material

This dog raincoat is made with water-resistant material. Note, we did not say waterproof.

Confused? Keep calm. We’ll explain.

Well, water-resistant means that the fabric can repel water to a very large extent.

This means that, to a very large extent, water is not able to pass through the material.

On the other hand, waterproof means that the material is impervious to water; water just can’t get inside, no matter what.

To put this into perspective, two bags, one water-resistant, the other waterproof.

If both are placed at the bottom of the Atlantic, after a while, the water-resistant material begins to crack in little spaces, water begins to creep in.

On the other hand, whatever is inside the waterproof bag remains completely dry even if left for a hundred years.

As to how water-resistant this dog raincoat is, it’s pretty good. Not out of this world or anything, just good enough to keep your pup dry after a long walk around the block.

Just do not take your dog swimming with this on expecting him not to get wet.

2. Color And Design

This dog raincoat is available in red, yellow, black, sky blue, pink, brown, and camouflage.

Anyways, if we were to make a choice for you, it would be the red, yellow, blue, or pink; most preferably the yellow.

This is because, these colors are easier to see in the dark.

If you get a camouflage, it becomes even more difficult to pick out your pooch in the dark when it’s raining.

Furthermore, this raincoat comes with a reflective stripe that runs vertically through the back of this raincoat.

However, don’t depend solely on this reflective stripe because there are prints along the stripe which somehow restrict the visibility. Best thing we suggest is a high visibility collar.

The Sizes Run Pretty Small

Not to be too quick to generalize, but this is typical of Asian products. They usually run very small, and the Puppia Dog Raincoat is not an exception.

We think that this raincoat was designed mainly for small dogs.

To get a size that fits, you’ll probably have to order two or more sizes up.

And considering that this ships from South Korea, it’s really hard to return (shipping cost). Not good!

The Leash Access Hole

The leash access hole is so tiny, we’re not even sure you can call that a (w)hole, it’s probably a half.

Most times, after getting the dog raincoat, you have to open up the leash access hole further so it can fit your leash.

Unless your leash is as thin as fishing line, it won’t pass through this tiny hole.

The problem with opening the hole by yourself is that, a little mistake and the material is ripped; raincoat is ruined; money is wasted.
