Who Is The Precision Triple-Door Great Crate Elite For?
Like we will always say here, if it’s not heavy-duty, restrict to crate trained dogs.
Now, this is actually made of a heavier gauge wire when compared to its younger siblings. But still, we won’t readily recommend it for a rambunctious pet.
Now all that taken care of, this crate comes in 5 sizes. So, there’s definitely something for your dog here, no doubts. Just ensure that you measure your pup first and pick the right crate for his size and you’re good.
And because we all know that everybody buys crates in their pup’s adult size, Pet Mate threw in dividers. Now with the dividing panels included, your crate can grow with your growing pup and you can save too.

1. 5-Point Door Lock System
And what’s a Pet Mate Precision crate without the patented 5-point lock system? Till date, Pet Mate remains the only brand with this unique lock system. This is in an industry where even elite brands like Midwest still use a 2-point lock system.
Now, does this lock system make this crate more secure than others? Sadly, we can’t really say that the 5-point lock system makes this crate much more secure than other crates with a 2-point lock system.
Well, maybe it is but the difference is really small. Determined dogs will still find their way out of this crate if they really want to.
So, yes this crate is quite secure, but for the normal, well-behaved pup.
2. Quiet Link System
The Quiet Link System is another feature of this crate and another area we aren’t quite sure the Pet Mate brand does well on this crate.
You might have already figured but if you haven’t, that’s why we are here for you. The Quiet Link System is what is supposed to make the crate come rattle-free. So, when you move the crate, it shouldn’t make a lot of rattling noises which can spook some pets.
And spook your pet or not, who wants a noisy crate that can’t keep quiet? By the way, the answer is no one.
But here’s the thing, these Quiet Links are made from cheap plastic and your dog will have a field day chewing it to bits. When that happens (if that happens), you’ll be back to square one. And then the entire thing is just pointless.
3. Material
This crate isn’t called “Great Crate” for nothing. Pet Mate increased the intensity of their hands in the manufacturing of this crate. This crate comes with a heavier gauge wire construction. So, naturally, it’s supposed to be tougher than the average wire crate.
But is it? Well, maybe yeah, by a little bit. This crate is a bit stronger than other Precision crates. But still, since it wasn’t made with the real aggressive breeds in mind, it’s advisable that you only use this for well-behaved dogs.
4. Hammertone Finish
Being made of metal, it’s important to keep the crate rust-free if it’s going to be durable. So, yes a good finish is a must-have. This comes with a hammertone finish.
A hammertone finish helps to make your crate remain solid even after a long period of use. It is also supposed to make the crate look nicer than your average crate.
Does it deliver on the looks department? Well, they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so we will leave that to you to judge.
If you ask us, they all look the same. But hey, your choice.
5. Propylene Pan Included
This crate comes with a removable plastic pan included which Pet Mate describes as free. OMG! Did they just say “free”? That’s quite laughable because removable pans aren’t things crate makers should describe as free. It should be part and parcel of the package you get.
But anyway, this “free” pan is made of plastic. And we still haven’t budged on our stance concerning that. Metal pans are still very much better.
6. Divider Panel
Also described as “free” (cue rolling eyes), there is a dividing panel included with this crate as well. So, this crate is great for house training pets.
But just so your dog doesn’t turn his living quarters to a bedroom with a bathroom ensuite, there is a divider panel to help manage space.
You can hardly go wrong with a divider panel. And this one sits very well with us.
7. Triple Doors
If double doors are convenient, then triple doors will be more than convenient. This is perhaps our stand out feature in this crate. It comes with three doors which makes the crate super easy to access.
Whether you’re taking things out of the crate or putting things into the crate, triple doors should be more than enough access to make things convenient.

This crate comes in 5 sizes. That is, the extra small, small, medium, large, and extra-large. Somewhere among the 5 sizes available, you should find something for your pet.

And like we said, this is adapted for travel so it comes with some travel necessities. The travel necessities included are stickers indicating that there is a live animal in the crate, some clip-on bowls, as well as ID stickers.
So, if you need a hard-sided crate, especially something you can travel with, this is a good choice.

Generally, this crate is loved by most pet parents. It’s large and spacious, sets up easily, and folds down easily as well. And then it comes with three doors as well which was great for many parents.
As for the quiet links and 5-point precision lock, contrary to what you might expect, they weren’t instant hits. Dogs were chewing off the plastic quiet links left, right, and center.
And then the precision lock… We did see instances where pet parents described how their dogs deftly handled the situation and managed to bust out of the crate.
Also, there were one or two complaints about the size and color not being true to what was advertised. But most guys were able to get a return pretty snappily. So, if that happens to you, you should get a replacement pretty quickly as well.
In all, many customers give Pet Mate a big hand. It’s obvious that most buyers of this crate are quite the happy campers.
Our Verdict
This is a super convenient unit and we love it. A triple-door dog crate isn’t something you find every day. So, when you see it, you should appreciate it. And we do appreciate Pet Mate for this really lovely crate.
That said, remember to only use this with well-behaved pets. Plus, you also don’t want to count on the Quiet Links and the 5-point lock system so much.
