Who Can Wear The Petsfit Dog Backpack?
Most backpacks, like this one, can be used by any dog, no matter their breed or body types.
While that is true, it is also important to know that you still need your vet’s opinion on this.
Your vet knows your dog’s medical history, and he will be able to tell you if this is good for your dog.
Also, he’ll be able to tell you how much weight that your dog will be able to carry without giving him a back problem.
Finally, you need to check through this product’s features to find out if it is available in your dog’s size.
Features Of The Petsfit Dog Backpack
The Petsfit Dog Backpack is made with Oxford material.
What is Oxford Material?
In the past, Oxford fabric was only made with pure cotton. However, recently, many of them are made incorporating certain synthetic fibers like rayon and polyester.
The Oxford material we’re looking at for this backpack was woven from 100 percent polyester material. Because of that, the material is waterproof.
Please, do not mistake the fact that the material is waterproof for the backpack being waterproof.
As much as the material used in making the backpack is waterproof, the backpack itself still contains stitch holes and zippers.
After a very long time under the rain, or when completely immersed in water, these holes would eventually allow water to get into the backpack somehow.
However, if you’re just under the rain for some time, whatever is inside the backpack remains completely dry. You can also add a water-resistant spray to the backpack to make it better.
Another reason why this material is good is because it is very durable.
With backpacks, durability is very important. You want something that can cope with the toughness of the outdoors and come back unscathed.
This backpack is only available in one color; light green and grey. That is quite a bummer being that a lot of us want different options to pick from.
When it gets really dark, it gets very difficult to see your pooch. But with this bright green colored backpack that accentuates your dog’s figure, it becomes a lot easier for you to pick him out even in the darkest of places.
3. Straps And Handle
This backpack comes with one handle and three straps. The handle is on the top center of the backpack, and you can use it to lift the backpack, or to lift the dog over an obstacle.
However, it should not be used to carry your dog for a long period of time.
This handle is not very strong. If you use the handle to carry your dog, the weight might break the handle causing your dog to fall to the ground.
Even if that doesn’t happen, you’re putting too much pressure on your dog’s rib cage, and that can result in a host of medical issues. So not good.
The three straps that come with this backpack work as follows:
The first one goes around your dogs’ neck, the second one around his chest, and the last one goes around his stomach.
These three straps, once adjusted to fit, will keep the backpack in place and prevent it from slipping.
Also, the straps come with plastic buckles to keep them locked in.
You’ll have to be careful with these buckles though if you have a hairy dog. If you’re not careful, you might mistakenly clip on his hairs, which could be really painful.
4. Sizes Available
There are two sizes of this available, small and medium. To find the right size for your pooch, you’ll need to measure his girth.
For those who don’t know, girth refers to the circumference around the widest part of your dog’s chest.
After measuring, reach out to the company so they can tell you what size is best. We tried to find a sizing chart, but we just couldn’t, sorry.
Pros Of The Petsfit Dog Backpack
1. Enough Space In The Bag
People like the backpack because of the space inside the bags. It’s not very easy to find backpacks that are this affordable but still have enough space to carry your dogs’ essentials.
According to a report from a customer, the space in this backpack was enough to carry a food bowl, a towel, poop bags, keys, and two water bottles, on each side.
And guess what? There was still space to spare inside the bag.
If you want to go for a more than one day hike, this backpack will comfortably hold all the stuff your dog needs.
Remember to always balance out the weight on both sides so your dog isn’t leaning to one side, and so the backpack doesn’t slip.
2. Comfortable For Dogs
This backpack was designed with your dog’s maximum comfort in mind.
We find that numerous people are happy with the product, simply because their pooch loved it to.
According to them, it was very comfortable for the dog who used it.
Comfort is one thing you don’t want to tamper with when it comes to your dog.
If you really take that pooch like your little kid (which you ought to), you’ll always have his best interest at heart.
And well, what is his best interest if not something he’s comfortable with?
1. No Reflective Stripes
Reflective stripes are pieces of fabric that glow in the dark, thereby, making your dog easier to pick out in low light.
Yes, this backpack is already brightly colored. However, we all know that color cannot do so much when it becomes pitch-black darkness.
Only something that thrives in such conditions (like glow-in-the-dark) fabric, can.
2. No Leash Attachment
Very bad. Without a leash attachment, if you need a leash to take your pooch out, you’ll need to wear this on top of his harness, or collar.
If you use a collar, you’ll most likely not have a problem with this. However, for those who use harnesses, you might want to rethink this backpack.

What Do People Think?
People really like this backpack. With the way the market is today, it’s hard to find a decent backpack under $20, and this is better than decent.
People also appreciate the fact that the pockets are big enough to carry their dogs’ essentials.
What Do We Think?
Well, for the price, we think this is a good backpack. If you don’t have the money for something more sophisticated, this will work well.
However, if you do have the money, we would suggest you invest in something better that will last longer.
