Who better to share the beautiful moments caught in during outdoor adventures than man’s best friend? One of the first things you need to enjoy the outdoors with your pooch is a dog backpack. That’s why today, we’ll be reviewing the Industrial Puppy Dog Backpack.
The pet gear production company, Industrial Puppy, was created in 2013, as a result of the owner’s passion for animals, most especially, dogs.
The one thing she loved most about dogs was their ability to help their owners live healthier, safer, fuller, and more complete lives. That’s why the company focuses on creating dog gear for service dogs. Service dogs include: emotional support dogs, therapy dogs, military dogs, and dog helps for the disabled.
One good thing about purchasing from this brand is that, by doing so, you are indirectly supporting thousands of service dogs all across America. Industrial Puppy partners with a lot of US Service Dog Organizations, donating harnesses, vests, and even money.
Now that we’re done with that, let’s get on with the product in details.

Who Can Wear The Industrial Puppy Dog Backpack?
As long as there is a size available that fits your dog, he can wear this backpack. However, you don’t want to get this backpack for your dog unless he is a service dog.
Why? Well, that’s because the backpack comes with big signs on the sides that say “service dog”, and it would be misleading to wear that if your dog isn’t a service dog.
Also, it’s always a good thing to see your vet first. He’ll be able to tell you how much weight is good enough for your dog to carry, and how much is too much.
Features Of The Industrial Puppy Dog Backpack
The manufacturers of this backpack make a huge claim about this backpack, saying that the backpack is made from the strongest materials available in the market. Quite a bold claim.
From what we could gather, the backpack is made with heavy-duty, double-stitched nylon material.
This heavy-duty nylon is firm and heavyweight, unlike what we’re used to with the normal nylon material. In fact, it’s mostly used by the military for making tents and other camping gear. So, the brand’s claim might not be so far-fetched after all.
As expected, this material is highly resistant to water, even more so considering its increased strength.
It’s also a big plus for dog owners as you don’t want to have to start emptying the backpack at every slight sign of rain. With this material, whatever you keep inside the backpack remains totally dry.
2. Harness + Saddlebags Design
We really like this feature about backpacks, being able to also serve as a harness. Well, this is originally a harness, but you can add individual saddlebags to each side, to make it a backpack.
The backpacks attach to the harness using a strap that goes underneath a hook and Velcro straps back on itself. This is a really strong technique that keeps the bag in place, no matter how much your dog shakes.
Also, the harness and the saddlebags both have the “service dog” badge, so you don’t have to worry about it being covered up by the bags.
3. Handle And Leash Attachment
The Industrial Puppy Dog Backpack comes with a handle that goes horizontally across the backpack, and a metallic D-ring with which you can attach your leash.
We grouped these two features together because both of them involve controlling your dog. The first one involves controlling him when he’s close by, while the latter, when he’s a bit far off.
The handle should not be used to carry your dog for a long period of time. It should only be used in emergency situations, or over a small obstacle.
One downside to the handle is that it isn’t padded. Actually, on second thought, it is a good idea. That way, carrying your dog isn’t very comfortable on your palm, which should discourage you from doing so.
4. Sizes Available
The Industrial Puppy Dog Backpack is available in 7 different sizes. Wow! It’s very rare to see a backpack that is available in that many sizes. With this backpack, it is almost impossible to not find a size for your pooch. Also, the sizes would fit your pup nicely.
To find the right size for your pooch, you’ll need to measure his girth. Your dogs’ girth refers to the circumference around the widest area of his chest. Please measure in inches. Once you’re done measuring, check under this paragraph for the company’s sizing chart to find your dogs’ matching size.
If you weren’t able to find something in your dog’s size, which is highly unlikely, then, hopefully, you might find something that fits in the alternative options provided.
Pros Of The Industrial Puppy Dog Backpack
1. Colors are high visibility. Plus, the backpacks also come with reflective stripes to increase visibility at night.
2. Bags are detachable which is a great idea for those times you need to take short breaks with your dog.
Cons Of The Industrial Puppy Dog Backpack
1. The straps which go under your dog’s belly can begin to cause chaffing after a while especially if your baby isn’t furry.

What Do People Think?
Well, people like the backpack, they like the price. The only thing people seem to be angry about is that the straps are not padded, so, they chaff their dogs’ skin.
What Do We Think?
We think it’s a really good backpack for service dogs. Yes, the company could’ve made the effort to add some padding to the straps. But aside that, we don’t really have a problem with this. It’s reasonably priced too.
