Today, we will be reviewing the Fabdog Packable Dog Raincoat. We’ll be reviewing it, actually, but first, let’s talk about the brand – Fabdog.
The founder of the company Fabdog, Cassie Cole, had a little pooch named, Lucky. Boy! Was Lucky lucky! Cassie always dressed her up beautifully, adorning her with leatherwear and rhinestone. After doing this for a while, one day, Cassie sat back and looked at Lucky and she said “Lucky is a fabdog!”
Fast forward to the present day, Fabdog caters to all kinds of dogs with trendy, fashionable wear. In its own words, Fabdog’s promise to its customers is to “dress your dog in quality clothing that’s comfortable and stylish”.

Features Of The Fabdog Packable Dog Raincoat
1. Material
The Fabdog Packable Dog Raincoat is made with a nylon shell and mesh lining. Nylon is a good, water-resistant material that will keep your pup dry even if he’s under the rain for hours (it’s not advisable though).
Although some might argue that nylon is a better water-resistant material than polyester (and they would not be wrong), there are other things you have to consider about nylon. It lacks the strength of polyester. Nylon is quite soft and rips easily. So, you’d have to be extra careful with nylon much more than polyester.
Based on this, therefore, this won’t be an advisable pick for aggressive or active dogs.
On the positive side, though, nylon is lightweight. This means it will dry fast, and this becomes especially useful if you live in areas where it can rain for days at a time.
As for the inner lining, this raincoat features mesh. It’s a great, breathable material. However, keep in mind that it won’t keep your pooch warm. So, if you live in particularly cool areas, this might not be the raincoat for you. If you really want the raincoat, though, you could layer up your dog with a sweater before putting on the raincoat.
2. Color
This dog raincoat is available in 9 different colors. That gives you a lot of options to choose from, and some anxiety if you have a problem with making decisions. All nine colors are beautiful and functional, except for navy blue for obvious reasons. It’s not visible enough to be seen in the night or when it gets dark.
Pros Of The Fabdog Packable Dog Raincoat
1. The leash access hole comes with a flap to prevent water from seeping through.
2. This raincoat also features a pocket to carry small items like treats and the likes.
Cons
This raincoat is only good for light showers. First, there’s nothing that covers the underbelly of your dog. Also, the material is soo light and will not be able to hold in strong winds.

What Do People Think?
Everyone who bought this dog raincoat has relegated it to the spare raincoat for “going number 2” when it’s raining outside. There seems to be a unanimous agreement that this isn’t a raincoat for staying in the rain for long periods at a time. So, no taking walks in this.
If you want something for a much longer walk, you would have to get something else for your pooch.
What Do We Think?
Too poor! This is what you call a cheap product. Not affordable, cheap. Made with low-grade materials and it doesn’t even cover your pup properly.
This does not cut it for us.
