Who Is The Everyday Urban Bark Collar For?
The Everyday Urban Bark Collar is a training collar for dogs who have a bad bark behavior. Also, dogs who are not of optimal health, are pregnant or breastfeeding and even senior dogs should not be wearing this collar.
It comes with a one size fits all strap that adjusts between 8 and 22 inches. This is a decent range that can accommodate a good number of breeds.

1. The Receiver
Everything that happens with this collar happens in the receiver. The receiver is a small box-like thing that is meant to be rested on your dog’s neck. On the receiver, there is a small microphone that picks up the bark sounds from the wearer.
The idea is for the mic to pick up your dog’s bark sounds, specifically. However, it allows for what Everyday Urban refers to as ‘essential barking’.
Also, seeing as this collar uses a microphone, it has the tendency to pick up random sounds, translate them as bark sounds and send corrections to the wearer. So be sure that the collar is snug against your dog’s neck.
This collar is not a shock collar. This means that it only uses vibrations and sounds as correction modes. Some say this makes this collar more humane but we’ll allow you to be the judge of that.
Now those correction modes are in seven sensitivity levels. And the collar goes through the levels sequentially, in order of intensity. There are buttons on the receiver with which you can either increase or decrease the intensity level.
In addition, this collar comes with two sets of plastic probes. When your dog wears this collar, the probes should be touching his skin directly because those are the stuff through which the vibration mode will pass to the skin.
The reason there are two pairs (one long and one short) is that different dogs have different fur lengths. A dog with long fur will require the long pair of probes to touch his neck directly, while a dog with short fur can make do with the short pair of probes.
This collar comes with two paw-like plastic faces; one blue and one orange.
2. Battery
It uses and comes with just one replaceable battery. The battery is an alkaline 4LR44 RV battery. We think you should be able to find replacements at any regular store.
3. Strap
The strap of this collar is made of nylon. It is a “one size fits all strap” and so can be adjusted, as we’ve already mentioned. So, you should know that the tri-glide will be used for exactly this purpose.
Also, the strap is stitched with two pieces of reflective stitching which means that you can use this collar even at night.
The strap is washable and also comes in just one color; black. So if you feel you need to wash it, just remove it from the receiver and wash it whichever way suits you.
A plastic buckle is attached to this collar and that is what you’ll use to clasp and unclasp the collar. This shouldn’t be an issue for all concerned.
This collar doesn’t have a leash ring because it is not meant to hold a leash. So if you want to take your dog walking with this collar, make sure he is wearing his regular collar.

This collar comes with an instruction manual that contains information on the what and how-to of this collar. It should be easy enough for you to follow.

The Everyday Urban Bark Collar is user friendly. It should be easy enough for you to figure out on your own.
However, you really don’t have to, seeing as there is a training manual that is easy to follow.

It isn’t every day that you see a bark control collar that is also reflective. So when we see one that is, we are appreciative of it. And we also think you will be.
2. Battery
To be honest, we aren’t always excited about collars that use replaceable batteries because of all those replacements that you have to buy and even trying to find the exact battery. However, we can make a concession here seeing as the battery is easy to find.
3. No Shock
The Everyday Urban Bark Collar doesn’t use static shock to get its point across. It’s just about the vibrations and the sounds.
4. Instruction Manual
We like the fact that this collar comes with an instruction manual because it just makes things a whole lot easier. Not that things weren’t easy to start with, though.
What Are The Cons Of The Everyday Urban Bark Collar?
Many small dogs will find this collar a tad too big. You’ll be able to adjust it using the tri glide but that could make the collar bulkier. So, you might need to cut off excess strap. However, you should be sure to leave enough room for your dog to grow into the collar.
