The buckle is made of alloy which makes it comfortable in water as it is rust-resistant. However, this does not mean that you should go ahead and plunge this in inside water.
The D Ring is also made of metal and is the only ring on this collar so you shouldn’t be confused. The D Ring is hand sewn into the collar itself, giving it a better chance of staying on even when pulled on. The D Ring is also pretty durable on its own.
The tri-glide is also made of metal. Most leather collars have the metal buckle with the tongue and belt holes and so do not need a tri-glide to adjust the collar. However, the Chede Handmade Leather Dog Collar uses a metal buckle so it also features a tri-glide to be used in adjusting the collar.
The tri-glide slides along fairly well, at least, as well as metal can glide along leather.
