Who Can Wear The Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar?
This collar can be worn by basically any dog but it should appeal more to dog parents who are sports lovers. The Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar does not discriminate against users whether by breed or color.
Features Of The Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar
1. Material
It is made out of polyester. The collar is fairly strong and durable enough to be fine in spite of tugs and even bites. A dog who can find this collar in this size should not be able to break out of this collar.
However, bear in mind that this collar is not meant to be used as a tie out. What this means is that you cannot tie your dog to a pole or something when he is wearing this collar. It could pose a choking hazard to him.
Part of the collar is stitched with reflective stitching. What this means is that despite the fact that the collar reflects light from around it, it is not the most reflective collar out there.
It is jacquard at the edges. And the idea is so that the edges do not fray or come unraveled. The jacquard edges should also not scratch or pull on hair or anything.
This dog collar is padded on the inside (well part of it). This should make the collar that bit more comfortable. The padding is soft so it will be comfortable against your dog’s skin.
We have been saying that this collar is sports designed. However, it doesn’t exactly come with inscriptions, symbols and logos of any sports team. The design just has the feel of sports to it. There is just one design option but it comes in different colors. 7 different colors to be precise.
Lastly, it is washable, either by hand or by machine. We don’t expect the colors to bleed.
2. Clasp And D Ring
The Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar uses a metal buckle. The buckle is heavy duty and so we don’t expect it to break or something. But we don’t think this is the best buckle we’ve seen on a Blueberry Pet product.
The reason is that this buckle might give you a bit of issue in trying to manipulate it. Getting the metal tongue through the appropriate hole is what might be a bit problematic, especially if you have large fingers.
The collar doesn’t have any strap loop. So you’ll have to make do with the D Ring. We are not exactly excited about this, though. Especially seeing as the D Ring isn’t very close to the buckle.
Now, the D Ring is originally meant to hold the leash. It is made of metal and coated with matt grey. The idea behind this is for the leash ring to be even more durable and for the collar to have no problem with being in water.
The D Ring is sewn into the collar tightly enough that it shouldn’t come off when it is pulled on. But remember not to use it for a tie out. It isn’t designed for that purpose.
Is The Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar User Friendly?
Well, we don’t see you having any problems with understanding how to use this collar. It is a basic collar, there are no technicalities or hidden levels.
However, the buckle is something that might take some getting used to. It is a regular buckle quite alright, but handling it is not the most comfortable thing to do.
Pros Of The Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar
1. Padded
The inside of the collar is padded, if only in part. So added to the comfort which polyester usually gives, the inside of this collar is that little bit more comfortable.
2. Washable
We like that you can wash it all you want and even toss it in the washer with other clothes. This is because the color does not bleed and the collar washes well.
3. Jacquard Edges
The edges of the Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar are jacquard such that they do not fray or unravel. This should ensure that the collar lasts a bit longer and doesn’t pull on the hair of the wearer.
Cons Of The Blueberry Pet Sports Designed Collar
As we earlier said, we are not particularly excited about the buckle. The buckle does not make for the most exciting collar wearing experience. In addition, few complaints have pointed out that the buckle drags on the hair of the wearer.
We also do not like that this collar does not have a strap loop at all. The position of the D ring does not make it the most effective loop. Some people resort to cutting off the extra strap.
